Mark Selby has been absolutely fabulous but it’s fair to say he’s getting a bit of help.

The Jester from Leicester sinks a long red and he's in with a good chance of making a decisive break to take another frame. One tricky red with the rest is put away in clinical fashion and it is curtains in this frame for Higgins.

Maybe the chance John Higgins had to win the frame has now gone.  

Higgins loses position when potting a black. His break of 22 ends. 35-22.

Executiverocker: Higgins really needs to up his game if he wants to win.

It looked a frame-winning chance, but Selby stumbles at 35. Still, a good start for the reigning world champion.

Selby is carrying off where he left off earlier. His break is already up to 19.

After an afternoon session where he only won one frame of seven, John Higgins might need some cheering up.

From 10-4 down on Sunday, to 13-11 up on Monday, it has been some turnaround.

We could have five frames left, we could have 11. We will have drama.

John Higgins has seen his head scrambled just now by one of the greatest predators of all time.

And there it is. This session has had seven frames, Selby has taken six of them.

He storms through the 24th with a break of 72. Higgins, shut out again, has a lot to think about.

That is the end of the session, play starts again at 19:00 BST, Selby needs five more, Higgins needs seven. It was 10-4 to Higgins, in what seems like some crazy parallel universe.

We didn't have time for the scheduled eighth frame of the session so that carries over to the evening session. We will have between five and 11 more frames later on.

Selby has now scored more than 200 points, without any in reply from Higgins. The foot is truly on the accelerator now. (64-0)
