James: Judd Trump has played amazingly well, but he has had a great run of the ball. When he misses he barely seems to leave anything easy on?

    Ryan: Come on John Higgins.

In fairness James some of that is by design. Agree though he's had a decent run of things at times.

    Frame 24: Higgins 8-15 Trump

Can John Higgins nick these last two frames?

Judd Trump looks so dominant at the moment.

However, the 43-year-old Scot need look no further than his last two finals as templates, with Mark Selby overturning a 10-4 deficit to wrestle the crown away from him in 2017.

In 2018, Higgins clawed back seven frames on Mark Williams to draw level at 15-15 before eventually losing to the Welshman.

    Frame 24: Higgins 8-15 Trump

Higgins misses a red in the bottom-right pocket and gives Trump a chance. But he's missed it!

Higgins steps back up and slams a red in. The crowd is delighted, it had been a while since anything had gone in.

    Frame 24: Higgins 8-15 Trump

This is the trickiest frame of the day so far it seems. Trump's got himself in a tough position, only able to play the yellow. He edges the cue ball in behind it and leaves Higgins with a difficult shot.

Higgins has no issues though, he's played that superbly.

    Frame 24: Higgins 8-15 Trump

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

Judd Trump knows the job he has to do and I don't think anything will make him deviate from that.

If he wins this he may wonder if he had dedicated himself sooner to the game, how much more he could have won.

BBC Sport at the Crucible Theatre

We've just had a news conference with World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn at The Crucible.

He has been talking about slow play and the sport "does not have a serious problem" with it, only a handful are over 30 seconds per shot in tournaments.

More interestingly, he mentioned there will be a consultation with the players regarding the number of 'toilet breaks' they take, popping out after session. Hearn says a limit is most likely to be introduced as "some are using it as gamesmanship".

Talking about the general state of the sport, Hearn said: "I am very satisfied with the level of entertainment being provided by the players. The events on the BBC are showing growth in a declining market."

A first show of frustration from Higgins. He grimaces and lifts his cue in the air as he misses a black in the bottom right.

    Frame 24: Higgins 8-15 Trump

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

John Higgins has a target now. He has to win the next two frames. At 15-10 he will still think he is in this. But if it ends at 16-9 you would think it is too far.

Trump's safety is a bit faster than he intended and Higgins draws first blood in the 24th frame.

    Frame 24: Higgins 8-15 Trump

    John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC Two

That was tremendous mental fortitude from John Higgins. It is what he's been doing all the way through the championship.

He was five frames back in the semi-final against Dave Gilbert three times. We are talking about how well Judd Trump is playing. and it's as well as he's ever played, but the session is 3-3.

It's amazing what John is producing.

    Frame 24: Higgins 8-15 Trump

Higgins looked like he was on for a century at the beginning of that frame. One more ton and there will have been an incredible 100 centuries in this championship.

    Frame 24: Higgins 8-15 Trump

    Dennis Taylor

Every credit to John Higgins here. He is just the sort of player who will never ever give up.

He did nothing wrong last night. He started with a 125 break and then had to sit in his seat and watch his opponent.

    Frame 23: Higgins 7-15 Trump

Higgins is the man to finally get things going as he sinks a red in the middle left pocket.

He comes up a bit short off a red but manages to recover to pot the pink. Higgins isn't cracking under this pressure. He may be being outplayed by Trump so far but it looks like he has no intention of letting him run away with this final.

If you are John Higgins and you see him taking on the opening red in that last frame you think 'I haven't done anything wrong'.

Judd Trump is playing at the same standard today as he was yesterday. It's as good as I have ever seen him play.
