    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Two

Stephen Maguire should have gone out of the room in embarrassment! Snooker - what a stupid game!

Maguire looked like he was losing his head but, now, Ding will be wondering what happened.

    Frame 11: Ding 7-4 Maguire

This is much, much better from Stephen Maguire. He racks up a century break, finishing on 104 to reduce Ding Junhui's lead to three frames.

    And all from a fluke.

    Frame 11: Ding 7-3 Maguire

By the way, when I say a relatively modest 67, I mean by a top 16 player in the world player.

I'd snap your hand off for a 67.

    Frame 11: Ding 7-3 Maguire

Stephen Maguire is getting some much-needed table time at the minute.

He's up to 52 and looks on course for his highest break of the match here. At present that stands at a relatively modest 67.

Ian: That, from Magsy Maguire, redefines ‘fluke’, quite incredible! Needs to make it count now to get back in the match.

  6. What a flukepublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2019

    Frame 11: Ding 7-3 Maguire

    What a fluke.

    Stephen Maguire probably needed that.

The Scot completely shanks a long red to the bottom right corner but the ball ricochets back up to the baulk cushion and comes back down the table to knock a red in that was hanging over the left pocket.

Ding Junhui was up and ready to pounce but is quickly back down in his chair.

Now what can Maguire make of that good fortune?

    Stress

My stress levels are looking quite good at the moment, you can't say the same for Stephen Maguire.

The Scot will be steaming sat in his seat after breaking down on 53 and allowing Ding in.

    John Parrott

Stephen Maguire had a chance but the red he missed into the corner was huge. There was a lot of pressure on that because he could have gone on to clear the table and win the frame.

Ding Junhui looks extremely comfortable, is making more of his chances and looks the stronger player.

Absolute nightmare for Stephen Maguire. Ding Junhui's quick-fire start to this evening continues.

He played an outstanding rest shot to seal that frame.

Come on who would really fancy a shot like that...?

I think he has heard you Jordan. Stephen Maguire has made 53 but he's got a lot to do with the penultimate red.

James Hollands: When you see Ding playing at his absolute best, you have to ask yourself how he has only won 3 Triple Crown events! Hope he can win his fourth tonight.

    Jordan: Turn it on Maguire.

Now then Stephen Maguire is back at the table. He is 45 points down but it looks as though he means business - knocking in a brilliant opening red into the middle bag.

There's already a lot more tempo this evening than anything we saw this afternoon.

Ding Junhui is absolutely buzzing. It was going to be interesting to see how he coped after going from 4-0 to only lead 5-4 but he's going up the gears at the moment.

    Frame 10: Ding 6-3 Maguire

Stephen Maguire plays one of those horrible safety shots on to the bottom cushion.

You know the sort, where your opponent can barely get their fingertips on to the table.

But what a response from Ding Junhui, who knocks a red into the middle bag. Stunning.
