    Frame 15: Higgins 7-7 Yan

Higgins is treading water here. He starts the 15th frame with a very lax safety shot, leaving Yan with half a chance.

It's a long red but Yan, knocks it in with aplomb. He's brimming with confidence now.

It's a fascinating final. I would suggest if Higgins loses he'll look back at it as one that got away. He's had great chances to force his advantage but now he faces a bit of a scramble to get to the finish line because his opponent is buoyed up.

    What a lovely sight...

Looks like Yan Bingtao's girlfriend and manager have arrived in Milton Keynes. What a nice surprise that'll be if he wins.

We have a new star in the game here. He's not 21 until February. He can still learn things, shot selection more than anything.

James Hollands: I think the person on the applause machine has nodded off! That was a brilliant shot from Yan!!

Art of Snooker: So full of confidence, exceptional break by Yan Bingtao.

Ant: Despite all his experience Higgins is there for the taking tonight, ever since his performance against Ronnie he’s got progressively worse. He’s got to find something or he’ll lose this match

    Frame 14: Higgins 7-6 Yan

Superb from Yan, who goes round the angles off the blue and comes up trumps by landing on a red into the bottom right bin.

Before you know it he is heading up towards a half century. Looks like we could going to a best of five.

    Frame 14: Higgins 7-6 Yan

This looks like it could develop into something to me.

Yan's up to 22 and then absolutely thunders the blue into the left middle to send the white hurtling into the pack of reds. They are as wide open as the frame is now.

    Frame 14: Higgins 7-6 Yan

Oh no. We are into a game of tippy-tappy with the white among the reds and both players keen not to leave a path to a red right over the bottom right corner.

A touching ball hands Higgins the chance to try and roll back up the table behind the brown but he's got nowhere near enough on that.

Yan's got a very simple red to get going.

    Frame 14: Higgins 7-6 Yan

Higgins headed out of the arena after that frame finished and who can blame him.

He's back now and quickly finds himself in behind the green, so he'll have to play off the bottom cushion. His first attempt lacks pace and direction touching the black.

    Another seven conceded.

    Frame 13: Higgins 7-6 Yan

    Steve Davis

Higgins had other shots he could have played. He would have known it was relatively near to the in off and he was distraught when he played it.

And the double at the end perhaps he was worried about going in off again.

It's massively hurtful knowing you should have had a three-frame lead.

    John Parrott

It's another twist in the tale of an extraordinary story. Higgins got himself in about four minds nevermind two when he went in off the black.

    Frame 13: Higgins 7-6 Yan

Ohhhhhh. Higgins goes for a double but leaves it over the top right corner.

Yan's got this frame in the bag.

    Frame 13: Higgins 7-5 Yan

Yan negotiates yellow to blue but then wobbles the pink in the bottom right corner.

What drama. Higgins and Yan then both miss attempts into the middle and top left corner before the Scot finds an angle to waft it into the bottom right corner. It's a black-ball frame.

I can't believe Higgins fell for that. It was an old billiard shot.

I can only put it down to a loss of concentration.

    Frame 13: Higgins 7-5 Yan

Talk about a stumbling block. Higgins knocks a straight red along the bottom cushion in but leaves himself with a very difficult black.

He opts to play safe but doesn't figure on going in off. That's a shocker. The score is 62-52.

    Frame 13: Higgins 7-5 Yan

That's the sort of red that trips up a good club player but not a four-time world champ.

In it goes and Higgins has got position on the black.

He races up to 36 and plays a glorious screw shot on the black to draw out a trick red off the rail.
