    Frame 33: Selby 17-15 Murphy

Two reds left. One is tight on the side cushion.

That red is Mark Selby's best friend right now.

    Frame 33: Selby 17-15 Murphy

Shaun Murphy is having none of such thoughts.

Left a tempting but tough red to the middle, he knocks it in like it was over the pocket.

Mark Selby will be squirming in his chair.

    Frame 33: Selby 17-15 Murphy

A stunning stat there from the comms - Mark Selby's long shot success this evening is 10%.

He turns down a long red.

Wonder if those things are connected...

But he's run out of position. A pot on the green and the cue ball just catches the brown to take the pace out of it.

No red on so just a safety. Selby leads 38-22. Six reds left.

This would bring the house down if Murphy can clear from here.

    Frame 33: Selby 17-15 Murphy

A reprieve for Shaun Murphy. Mark Selby misses a long red.

And, more importantly, leaves it on a plate for the Magician with a sign saying 'eat me up'.

    Frame 33: Selby 17-15 Murphy

But Mark Selby will be cold, no longer.

Shaun Murphy misses a long red, when he might have decided to try to cut it in the middle instead.

He leaves it up and Selby is away.

    Frame 33: Selby 17-15 Murphy

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Two

The psychological roles have reversed. Shaun is playing with a bit more freedom and Mark has tightened up a fraction.

It will switch again so Shaun really does have to make the most of every opportunity because the best way to get the best chance if he does get back level is to keep your opponent completely cold.

    Frame 32: Selby 17-15 Murphy

    John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC Two

Shaun Murphy is hitting the ball brilliantly. He's in the last-chance saloon and he's got to play no-miss snooker and get a bit of help from his opponent, and that's exactly what's happened in the last two frames.

It's going to be very interesting what sort of frame comes up from Mark Selby now - it wouldn't surprise me if it's a granite one to try and stop Murphy.

    John Virgo

Mark Selby will be getting these signals.

I know he’s only one frame away from the title but the way Shaun has played the past two frames, well...

    Back-to-back-to-back centuries. Two from Murphy.

    The crowd goes wild.

Just two frames in it. Whoa.

    Frame 32: Selby 17-14 Murphy

Shaun Murphy keeps falling a little bit awkward.

And he keeps pulling off fantastic recovery shots.

This frame is in the bag.

    Frame 32: Selby 17-14 Murphy

    Stephen Hendry

This is a wonderful opportunity to pull another frame back but at this stage of a World Championship final anything can be missed.

    Frame 32: Selby 17-14 Murphy

This pack of reds is split perfectly for Shaun Murphy to just pick them off as long as he keeps the cue ball under control.

Easier said than done of course.

    Frame 32: Selby 17-14 Murphy

I'd love to know Mark Selby's percentage success in safety battles through his career. Must be high.

He wins this one but then completely butchers a long red that wasn't difficult for someone of his talent.

    Murphy in again. Hmmm.

    Frame 32: Selby 17-14 Murphy

The Crucible audience has been rowdy at times this evening but a hush has descended as the players indulge in their latest tactical tussle.

Every mini-battle is so important now.

Mark has kept Shaun at arms’ length for a long period of time in this game and you always had the feeling he was going to do it but he’s still got to prove it.

    Frame 32: Selby 17-14 Murphy

Shaun Murphy floats in a nice red to get the first chance in this next frame too but a positional shot goes awry and he attempts a plant which goes wrong.

Easy red over the pocket for Mark Selby but he fails to get on a colour.

    Tense.
