Fantastic performance from Judd Trump. He didn't play it up at the end, there weren't any fist pumps, he just walked out because the job's not done yet. He went out calm as you like.

All the talk was whether we would have an evening session – after last night, it didn’t seem likely.

Not only have we got an evening session, we’ve got a match.

    O'Sullivan 14-11 Trump

Judd Trump finishes the session as he started it - with a century as a 105 break clinches the final frame this afternoon.

He's won the session 6-2 to give himself a chance heading into tonight's fourth and final session.

    Frame 25: O'Sullivan 14-10 Trump

Looks like it's going to be very big.

Trump quickly builds a break of 47 and Ronnie O'Sullivan requires snookers.

    Frame 25: O'Sullivan 14-10 Trump

Judd Trump puts all his eggs in one basket going for a tough long red.

He misses by a fair way - the reds fly everywhere and he flukes one!

    Frame 25: O'Sullivan 14-10 Trump

Neither player has been particularly smoking this afternoon, though.

It's been a case of errors being punished rather than big breaks deciding frames.

The latest mistake sees Ronnie miss a long red he would expect to make - Trump pots it with the rest. Chance.

  9. Ronnie lighting up the arenapublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 2 May 2022

    Frame 25: O'Sullivan 14-10 Trump

Funny moment between frames there - Ronnie O'Sullivan using a lighter to try to burn some fibres off his tip.

Reminded me of the bygone eras when players would light up a cigarette or drink a pint in their chair! Different era.

    O'Sullivan 14-10 Trump

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

That was impressive to win the frame in one visit because Ronnie has been put under pressure for the first time this championship and he responded.

You can tell by some of the shots he's missing and his positional play that he's under pressure.

    Frame 25: O'Sullivan 14-10 Trump

Right, final frame of the afternoon session incoming.

Will it be 15-10 or 14-11? Big difference between those scores. Both tough for Trump to claw back but the latter is do-able.

The former? Very unlikely. Ronnie would need just three frames - he's won two this afternoon despite being completely off-colour.

    Frame 24: O'Sullivan 14-10 Trump

O'Sullivan has kept his cool to cherry-pick those reds and leaves Judd needing snookers.

Trump thinks about it but decides, let's get on with the next frame instead.

Gordon Slessor: Steve Davis once described playing at the Crucible like a combination of visiting the dentist + your first job interview + sitting your driving test. All those nerves added together, times ten. He then went on to say that, in the final stages, each time you walk to the table it's like you have someone else's legs and when you try to address the ball, it's like you are using someone else's arms.

Ronnie and Judd would be nodding their heads at that today...

    Frame 24: O'Sullivan 13-10 Trump

Crazy start to the session's penultimate frame.

Trump bashes in a long red, misses a black off the spot. Ronnie lands on nothing after going into the pack.

So many errors from both in this final.

And now another as Trump tries to pot his way out of trouble from an O'Sullivan safety. He misses, reds go everywhere. Massive chance for the Rocket.

  16. 'Trump's touch magnificent under pressure'published at 15:32 British Summer Time 2 May 2022

    Stephen Hendry

That is a huge clearance from Trump. The pressure on him was massive and there were a couple of times where he wasn't perfect but under pressure his touch was magnificent.

    Frame 23: O'Sullivan 13-10 Trump

Trump takes advantage of that little bit of luck to clear the colours and, wow, he's back within three frames.

Presenter Hazel Irvine points out that Ronnie O'Sullivan has not lost a single session of snooker during these Championships.

That run will be ending. Trump is 5-1 up today - how many more can he claw back? Two frames of the session to go.

    Frame 23: O'Sullivan 13-9 Trump

Goodness me, a cut on the blue to middle for Trump, it touches a jaw, circles the pocket, touches the other jaw, looks for all the world it will stay out.

And drops. Somehow. Gravity, says commentator John Virgo.

    Frame 23: O'Sullivan 13-9 Trump

Judd Trump makes the error, leaving Ronnie a long red he dispatches it - but the next red after the colour is tough along the bottom cushion.

Ronnie tries to power it in, in the hope it will go safe if he misses - but it stays over the jaw.

Joy: Mistakes aplenty are very common on Monday of WC finals. That's why we love the Crucible. it's all about who has the bottle, the nerve, the absolute rock solid temperament to overcome the inevitable moment of weakness.
