Judd Trump finishes the session as he started it - with a century as a 105 break clinches the final frame this afternoon.

He's won the session 6-2 to give himself a chance heading into tonight's fourth and final session.

Looks like it's going to be very big.

Trump quickly builds a break of 47 and Ronnie O'Sullivan requires snookers.

Judd Trump puts all his eggs in one basket going for a tough long red.

He misses by a fair way - the reds fly everywhere and he flukes one!

Neither player has been particularly smoking this afternoon, though.

It's been a case of errors being punished rather than big breaks deciding frames.

The latest mistake sees Ronnie miss a long red he would expect to make - Trump pots it with the rest. Chance.

Reminded me of the bygone eras when players would light up a cigarette or drink a pint in their chair! Different era.

That was impressive to win the frame in one visit because Ronnie has been put under pressure for the first time this championship and he responded.

You can tell by some of the shots he's missing and his positional play that he's under pressure.

Right, final frame of the afternoon session incoming.

Will it be 15-10 or 14-11? Big difference between those scores. Both tough for Trump to claw back but the latter is do-able.

The former? Very unlikely. Ronnie would need just three frames - he's won two this afternoon despite being completely off-colour.

O'Sullivan has kept his cool to cherry-pick those reds and leaves Judd needing snookers.

Trump thinks about it but decides, let's get on with the next frame instead.

All those nerves added together, times ten. That is a huge clearance from Trump. The pressure on him was massive and there were a couple of times where he wasn't perfect but under pressure his touch was magnificent.

Trump takes advantage of that little bit of luck to clear the colours and, wow, he's back within three frames.

Presenter Hazel Irvine points out that Ronnie O'Sullivan has not lost a single session of snooker during these Championships.

That run will be ending. Trump is 5-1 up today - how many more can he claw back? Two frames of the session to go.

Goodness me, a cut on the blue to middle for Trump, it touches a jaw, circles the pocket, touches the other jaw, looks for all the world it will stay out.

And drops. Somehow. Gravity, says commentator John Virgo.

Ronnie tries to power it in, in the hope it will go safe if he misses - but it stays over the jaw.
