'The Jester' maintains his 100% pot success with the rest in this final by screwing in the first of those tricky reds.

He's 54-41 ahead with one red left - double in the middle or safety? The latter. Luca Brecel might have opted differently but that was the percentage shot.

Mark Selby has already erased the 41-point deficit to nudge ahead but the two remaining reds - one of either side cushion - will decide this frame.

Turning point?

An errant Selby safety leaves Luca Brecel the sort of red he's been knocking in all tournament.

But he misses it and now a big chance for the four-time champion to counter, 41-0 down but plenty of reds to begin a fightback even if a clearance looks difficult with the way some balls are positioned.

Still five frames away but the World Championship trophy is coming into clearer focus by the minute for Luca Brecel.

This break, however, ends on 41 as he runs out of position and plays a shot to nothing that is close but just stays out. Cue ball back in baulk though, no damage done.

Brecel did consider a risky double on a red for a moment but decided against it.

Losing that last frame does not seem to have flustered Luca Brecel a jot.

A lovely controlled cannon into the pack off the black splits the reds nicely - and he follows that up by floating a missable red into the middle.

Any thoughts that winning that frame might have settled Mark Selby are dashed as he misses a long red by quite some way.

And leaves one right over the middle pocket for Luca.

For the third time in four visits, Luca Brecel comes to the table in a snooker.

This one is the hardest of the lot, requiring mega swerve and it's no good. Back to square one, needing a snooker himself.

To his relief it lands behind the green, snookering Brecel, who hits it forcefully. Another snooker follows and this time Brecel leaves the red near the bottom corner - but it's a very thin long snick...

Yep, there's a red on the bottom cushion that Luca Brecel could lay a very nasty snooker from.

He does just that - and Mark Selby's attempted escape slides millimetres past the red!

AdrenALI_N: From watching the matches against Higgins and Allen, Selby is still well in this. It will be a test for Luca if he can hang on to his lead before potentially regretting the biggest chance of his life. If anyone revels in this position of adversity it's Selby.
