  1. Recap: Leicester win Team of the Yearpublished at 21:42 Greenwich Mean Time 18 December 2016

Leicester captain Wes Morgan has been reflecting on the qualities that gained them the Sports Personality Team of the Year Award (as well as the Premier League title): "It was one of those great things as a team where you can look at each other and just say 'same again'. We were solid and it was just a case of going on the pitch and doing the same thing.

"We’ve not done it the easy way but we did it in the end and it just comes down the unique set of lads we’ve got."

We saw many extraordinary performances during the Rio 2016 Paralympics. We saw swimmers win medals without arms or legs and we saw archers shoot arrows with their toes.

But for me, there was one performance so unique I had never seen it before.

Egyptian table tennis player Ibrahim Hamadtou did not win a medal but the way he played the game using just his feet to serve and with a bat in his mouth deserves some recognition.

I don’t know how he controlled the direction and pace of a small ping pong ball with a bat between his teeth but it was so incredible to watch - I had to stop working for a brief moment to admire his brilliance.

He’s never worried what people thought of him and he's become one of the most popular sportsmen in the country.

I feel as if he can go on and dominate quite significantly in 2017.

Andy Murray claimed one of the great, historic titles in tennis when he won the Italian Open in May, and beating Novak Djokovic to finish the week without dropping a set finally convinced the clay-court cognoscenti that the Briton was a real French Open contender. To be there as he hugged the trophy, while shuffling around the media centre in his tracksuit, was a special moment.

"Also I'd like to thank my family. I think my mum is in the crowd there, my dad as as well, he just got married 10 days ago, I miss you guys.

"I'd like to say a huge thanks to my wife and my daughter, who won't know what this means yet, but maybe in a few years she will.
