The sports stars have been rolling in. Ben Stokes, Dina Asher-Smith, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Alun Wyn Jones, Sky Brown, Paul Gascoigne, Jenny Jones, Eoin Morgan and Baroness Grey-Thompson are just a few of the big names.

A testament to the diversity of British sporting success is the curious fact that since event rider Zara Phillips lifted the Sports Personality trophy in 2006, only one winner (Lewis Hamilton, 2014) was born in England.
We've had some pretty awesome winners in the last decade. Cyclists, athletes, tennis players, Formula 1 drivers, jockeys and footballers - the whole lot.
Welsh cyclist Geraint Thomas was crowned last year's SPOTY and British tennis legend Sir Andy Murray has picked up three of the last six awards.

The fun is already under way with the red carpet shows on Twitter and the BBC Red Button. We'll bring you some of the highlights of what has happened so far - from outfits, skateboarding tricks and the thoughts of those in attendance.
But the real business kicks off from 19:00 GMT with the main show on BBC One. It's also available online, so just stay in this page and click on the icon at the top if you can't get to a TV screen.
There will be live reaction following the ceremony in the After Show from 21:00 GMT on the BBC Red Button, BBC Scotland and the website, as guests join Amy Irons and Des Clarke for an hour.

So here’s what awards will be handed out tonight. Two have already been announced but we will hear from the winners.
The winner of the Young Sports Personality of the Year has already been announced too. That went to 18-year-old boxer Caroline Dubois, who claimed gold at the European Youth Championships in Bulgaria for the fourth successive time.
Eliud Kipchoge has been voted Overseas Sport Star of the Year
Blood, sweat, tears. It’s been another phenomenal year of sport and tonight we will celebrate the best of the best.
Your 2019 Sports Personality of the Year will be crowned, along with seven other award winners from categories including Team of the Year, World Sport Star of the Year and the Unsung Hero award.
But which of these six sportsmen and women below will follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner Geraint Thomas?
