John Hinds:, external Andy is going to be on fire. This is his best chance ever to win this slam. COME ON ANDY DO US PROUD.

Andrew Neill:, external Fed will definitely win a set, maybe two but I think Murray sneaks this as long as he find his rhythm early on. Stamina will be key.

"Sit down, sit down," come the calls from the crowd as they grow frustrated with a couple of spectators who can't find their seats, thus delaying the action. At last their under way, and it's scintillating crosscourt backhand from Federer which drags Murray out of court. The Briton gets something on it, but it's an easy smash for Federer for 15-30. The Swiss piles on the pressure with more attacking tennis and brings up two break points with a lovely volley. "Very nice," says Ivanisevic. He only needs one of the them, as Murray sends a backhand long.

Some lovely attacking tennis from Murray, the Briton rushing to the net to put a way a very tidy backhand volley, but Federer rustles up some net magic of his own to seal the game to 15.

Murray, dressed in blue with a white baseball cap, puts himself under pressure early on with two unforced errors, but Federer nets an easy forehand to level things up at 30-30. "That was a gift," says Ivanisevic. And another one, a backhand that sails into the tramlines, gets Murray on the board.

"Murray looks nervous so Roger is going to push more and more. Murray's first serve is great but the second serve gets a little short at times, I don't know why there is such a difference."

"So to the night match, and neither Murray nor Federer would be a surprise semi-finalist - plenty around Melbourne Park have been making the case for both players. Judy Murray was a relaxed figure when she joined 5 live for breakfast about 10 hours ago, but she predicted the nerves would be building for yet another huge match featuring her son. Right about now, in fact."

"I think we're both coming into this match with a good feeling," says 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer. "We're both coming into this match with some doubts. I don't know how he is feeling, i haven't seen him play much, but from what I'm hearing, he's fine and that's very positive. I hoped he'd be 100% when he did come back. It's good to see.

"He took care of his draw and here we are again. I'm looking forward to the match. I wonder how it's going to play out. Last time we played was here last year, it was a great match and I hope we can produce something similar."

"One thing that already marks out Murray v Federer at this Australian Open is that, whatever the result, there cannot be a shock. After Serena, Sharapova and Djokovic, day 10 saw another high-profile casualty as Azarenka's two-year reign came to an end against a brilliant Radwanska. "She didn't make me angry," said the Belarusian. "I don't think I played my best tennis, but it didn't make me angry." And we nearly saw another upset before Nadal battled his way past Dimitrov, who was left in tears on his chair at the end of his first Grand Slam quarter-final."

When asked whether Andy Murray can go all the way and win his first Australian Open title, his coach Ivan Lendl said: "I sure hope so."

He added: "I think Andy is ready to go toe to toe with these top guys. Even if you're really ready, and you haven't had any injuries, you still don't know what will happen.

"Andy had had a good training block in Miami, he has played enough matches now - so none of that is an issue."
