On the day King Juan Carlos of Spain announces his decision to abdicate, Rafael Nadal, one of the country's most successful sportsmen looks in no mood to relinquish his throne as the King of Clay. He'll play David Ferrer in the quarter-finals - a repeat of last year's final.

That break of serve proved to be a blip as Rafael Nadal rattles off four straight points to break Dusan Lajovic for the fourth time in the set and seal a comfortable passage through to the quarter-finals.

Well would you believe it? Dusan Lajovic rustles up two break points as Rafael Nadal attempts to serve for the set and he takes the first with a backhand winner. Nadal must wait a little longer.

Rafael Nadal breaks Dusan Lajovic in the first game of the second set, consolidates it and then breaks again to move 3-0 clear. It looks like there is no way back for the Serb now.

Dusan Lajovic won just five points on the Rafael Nadal serve in the first 14 games but he somehow he manages to win three in a row to set up three break points. But they all disappear in the blink of an eye and before you know it, Nadal is stroll back to his seat with a two set cushion in his pocket. This match could be over in less than 90 minutes.

Over on Suzanne Lenglen, sixth seed Jelena Jankovic and Sara Errani, the 10th seed, are warming up ahead of their fourth-round match. Errani leads the head-to-head 2-1, but Jankovic is coming off her 30th victory of the season against Sorana Cirstea, where she dropped just three games.

Rafael Nadal, who has yet to make a forced error to Lajovic's 11, continues to pootle along in second gear out on Philippe Chatrier. The Spanish top seed is 4-0 up in the second set for the loss of just one point.

Spanish fifth seed David Ferrer races through the fourth set in just 29 minutes to beat Kevin Anderson of South Africa 6-3 6-3 6-7 (5-7) 6-1. He sets up a quarter-final against either Rafael Nadal or Dusan Lajovic.

Nadal, who has won 100% of the points on his first serve, takes the first set 6-1. It's a slightly subdued atmosphere on Philippe Chatrier, but singing legend Prince, who is sat in the posh seats with dark shades on and decorative cane in hand, looks like he's enjoying himself.
