  1. Cornet v Bouchardpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 30 June 2014

    Marion Bartoli
2013 Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 live

"Alize Cornet's best way on the court is to scream and yell, she is such a fighter. She will never disappear in a match and will fight right to the end. For me, she will win Wimbledon, whether its in the next three or four years, but I feel she will win here."

Edward Taylor:, external After they've closed the Court Court roof can you send them here to fix my office roof. It's leaking quite badly.

Ashley Wells: , externalThere's drier weather heading towards you! It's not raining here in Kingston upon Thames a few miles away.

Michael Blighe:, external More rain at Wimbledon. Sigh. Would have been nice to have clear play at least until I left for work!

Here come the players, Alize Cornet leading Eugenie Bouchard out onto Centre Court. However, the voice of Wimbledon has disappointing news for everyone with a ground pass as the current band of wet weather is expected to hang around for 20-30 minutes.

Tournament referee Andrew Jarrett is out on Centre Court with his microphone. He squats down and gives the lawn a wipe to assess the conditions and then heads off court. The net is back up and the umpire chair has been rolled out.

We're expecting the players back on Centre Court in just over five minutes with the covers being dragged off the court right now. Elsewhere, it's not so positive as the rain continues to fall.

Right, so where did we stand before the elements called a halt to proceedings? This is how the scoreboards look around the soggy grounds.

Court one: Sabine Lisicki 6-4 2-5 Ana Ivanovic

    Court three: John Isner 7-6 (10-8) 6-7 (6-8) 2-3 Feliciano Lopez

The tent is up on Centre Court to help drain the water away with the roof now fully closed. It's not such good news elsewhere. I'm told the rain is "smashing" it down out there.

  8. Postpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 30 June 2014

The rain is really coming down now, but I bring good news to those on Centre Court. The instruction has been given to close the roof. So there will be play soon, no matter what the weather does.

Everyone is huddling under umbrellas or wrapped up in plastic one-use raincoats on the hill. Fans won't want to budge from their spot, even if it's tipping down, with Murray on court later this afternoon.

The covers are across all around the grounds, but Ana Ivanovic and Sabine Lisicki soldiered on a little longer than the rest on Court One.

For a minute or so anyway. An exasperated look from Lisicki to the umpire is enough to convince him to come out of he chair and wipe the back of his hand across the court.

Out come the posts, across come the covers.

  11. Play suspended everywherepublished at 13:34 British Summer Time 30 June 2014

The rain has reached the rest of the grounds, too, with play suspended on all courts.

  12. Play suspended on Centre Courtpublished at 13:32 British Summer Time 30 June 2014

Up pop the umbrellas on Centre Court as the heavens open. The attendants race onto court, almost taking Cornet and Bouchard out as they storm across with the covers.

It's all got very dark out. Could rain be on the way? Cornet isn't bothered. She races through her service game to 15.

Cornet appears unable to deal with Bouchard's power and angles at the moment as the Canadian eases through her service game to level things up.

After Saturday's steady rain caused a schedule rejig, Stan Wawrinka will have to win five matches in seven days this week if he is to add the Wimbledon crown to the Australian Open title he won in January.

The Swiss number one has rattled through Denis Istomin in exactly the speedy style he needs to minimise that workload.

An hour and 26 minutes was all it took to reach the fourth round.

"Bouchard has definitely been on a long programme with her coach working on all aspects of her game. She has got a very good head on her shoulders as well, she wants to learn and be the best player she can however long that takes."

Alize Cornet's first serve percentage is down at 55% but she manages to cruise through her service game with the minimum of fuss.

    Liz Smylie
Former Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC TV

"This is Zahlavova Strycova's 11th Wimbledon and this has been her best result bv far. She had too much variety for Wozniacki and it was appropriate that matchpoint came off a drop shot because that was a shot that served her well all through the match."

A wails of delight to the heavens from Czech Barbora Zahlavova Strycova as Caroline Wozniacki's angled drop-shot reply drops long. The Danish former world number one saw off five match points, but her fingernails are finally prised off the cliff edge.

It is either Petra Kvitova or Shuai Peng next for Zahlavova Strycova in the quarter-finals.
