Allie: Broady has a tough match with Matosevic. I don't really see who he could have got that would be easier

Dawn Williams: The best fortnight of the year has arrived: Wimbledon! Ridiculously excited.

What's happening on the courts? I can help with that question, it's what I'm here for. Nick Kyrgios is cruising, winning the first set 6-0 against poor Diego Schwartzman. US Open champion Marin Cilic easily broke Hiroki Moriya on Court three and has taken the first set 6-3, while Annika Beck of Germany has romped through the first set 6-0 against Kirsten Flipkens.

  3. Murray to win - McEnroepublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

"My pick to win the tournament - and this is going to be a popular pick - is Andy Murray."

  4. "Murray in a fantastic place"published at 12:07 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV

"Andy Murray has come back from a lot of question marks about his game in the last six months. He played fantastically well in Australia, and has done brilliantly on clay - throw his recent wedding in there, and he's in a fantastic place. He is playing as well as he ever has."

  5. Buzz, buzz, buzzpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

"There was a buzz around the practice courts before Andy Murray emerged but it has turned into a full-on media scrum, with dozens of photographers cursing their luck when Murray chose the end nearest their vantage point, meaning he had his back to them when he came out on court.

"He has changed ends now, much to their relief, but there has been no let-up in pace. Murray plays world number 58 Mikhail Kukushlin in his first-round match in Tuesday and he is giving all his groundstrokes a full work-out."

  7. Broady fights backpublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

    Good news for a Brit

Hello, hello, hello. Liam Broady wasn't down for long. The Briton has fought back after going a break down and it's now with serve at 3-2. Elswhere, Nick Kyrgios is already 3-0 up in his match against Argentine Diego Schwartzman.

  8. Postpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

"Each Broady winner and every Matosevic error is greeted with warm applause and the odd whoop from the home crowd.

"There's a slight bit of cloud cover over SW19, but don't be fooled - it is already warm on court.

"Liam Broady wipes his brow as he returns from the changeover, probably from relief as well as the heat, after holding his serve at the second time of asking."

  9. Royal Box watchpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

    Trevor McDonald

Three members of the armed services are in the Royal Box, standing on guard before the great and the good perch their great and good bottoms on those famous cushioned seats.

Who will we see today? There's news presenter Fiona Bruce, author Bill Bryson, former News at Ten anchor Sir Trevor McDonald and finally (see what I did there!) two-time Wimbledon champion Stefan Edberg.

  10. Broady brokenpublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

    Bad news for a Brit

It's not been a great start for Liam Broady, who is sporting a hipster beard. Stockport's finest immediately went a break down in the first set and is now trailing Marinko Matosevic 2-1 with the Austrian serving.

  11. Broady the first Brit in actionpublished at 11:51 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

"Not a spare seat on court 18 as British wildcard Liam Broady knocks up with his Australian opponent Marinko Matosevic.

"The 21-year-old from Stockport - birthplace of Fred Perry no less - is limbering up for his first Grand Slam singles match. And he is the first Briton in court at Wimbledon 2015. No pressure...

"He makes an authoritative start, blasting down a forehand winner, only for Matosevic to roar back and break. That's quietened the home crowd..."

  12. Murray on the practice courtpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

"Andy Murray was all smiles as he walked out on the practice courts, but the serious stuff is already under way. Sun cream was being slapped on in large quantities by Murray's coach Amelie Mauresmo as she prepared to put the 2013 champion through his paces - very wise - while Murray himself took a long swig from his water bottle before he even hits a ball - also very wise.

"He started off his first practice session of Wimbledon fortnight with a few gentle forehands but has quickly picked up the pace - he is only out here for 30 minutes so wants to make the most of it."

  13. All change at Wimbledonpublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV

"There's been a lot of development work here in the last 12 months and the players and spectators will notice a lot of changes around Wimbledon, but the thing we're most excited about is getting on with the action today."

  14. 'Everyone's fired up'published at 11:45 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

"Everyone's fired up, it's going to get hotter and hotter - which is unusual for this event, and I should know, because I've been coming here for 40 years!

"On the men's side, it's going to be pretty interesting to see how that opens up. There's a third week's rest between France and Wimbledon now, and that's been done for the players. It gives them chance to take a breather and, as a result, I feel that the level of play is going to be higher earlier in the tournament.

"That's maybe more important for Novak Djokovic, because he's got such a tough first round match today against Philipp Kohlschreiber."

    Lindsay Davenport

"It was an amazing feeling to win it. Some players feel like they are destined for Grand Slam success, I was shocked.

"This tournament means the most - the aura and the tradition. There's been people lining up for 48 hours, just to get in today."

We all know we need to keep an eye on Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova on centre, Serena Williams on court one and Nick Kyrgios on court two. But where might that unexpected diamond of a match be?

Well, it could be on Court 18 where teenager Belinda Bencic takes on Tsvetana Pironkova. It's a chance for us to get a first glimpse of the 18-year-old, who is coached by Martina Hingis, since she claimed her first WTA Tour title at the weekend, beating Agnieszka Radwanska in Eastbourne.

"Wimbledon High Street turns into a bit of green room while the stars wait for their turn on the All England stage. British young gun Kyle Edmund, who will play Alexandr Dolgopolov in the first round tomorrow, was having a bit of breakfast out with his team. Meanwhile coaching sage Nick Bollettieri - who has overseen the early stages of the Williams sisters' careers among many others - is already on site, inspecting the surrounds behind a pair of shades."
