Naomi may have lost, but she played her part in a rare Wimbledon double act. With Liam Broady having played, and won, earlier today the pair became the first mixed siblings to appear in tandem at Wimbledon since Buster and Linda Mottram in 1978.

"Heather has to find a way not to be too passive against a big-hitter like Garcia.

"At the moment, apart from a brief passage of play in the middle of the first set, Garcia is being allowed to dictate things far too easily. She needs to be more aggressive and start applying as much pressure as possible to get Garcia moving more."

"The frustration continues for Heather Watson who is broken again after some more sloppy groundstrokes and takes it out on her racquet, which is sent bouncing to the back of court 12.

"The crowd attempt to lift her but Caroline Garcia quickly wraps up the first set, which is hers in just 27 minutes. I don't know if the long wait for her match affected Watson, or the late change from Court 12 but she is usually hard to beat and she has been far from that so far."

"Heather isn't playing with enough intensity, she's too casual. There's just no intensity with her legs and she's not been in the match at all so far. She needs to quickly re-group for the second set"

I thought that Heather Watson against Caroline Garcia might stretch late into the evening.

So far, it might be over in time for dinner. And not for any happy reasons for a British point of view.

"Disappointment for Naomi Broady. She had a set point in that first set, how different it could have been - she threw everything at it."

Lucie Safarova has taken a look over the abyss, decided actually she quite enjoyed her run to last year's semi-finals and wants to stick around a little longer this.

She has recovered from a set down to overhaul Alison Riske and make the second round.

"Heather Watson really must serve harder. Serving at 82 miles per hour is not good enough at this level. She seems to feel the ball isn't coming out of her racket properly. Maybe she's feeling the nerves of a home Grand Slam."

"It's a tough start for Heather. She isn't getting enough first serves in, and add to that the fact that Garcia is serving well, it's causing Heather some problems in this first set."

"Heather Watson cannot get to grips with Caroline Garcia's serve and the rather subdued atmosphere on court 12 reflects the sluggish start made by the British number one, who was broken in her first service game and is very much on the backfoot already.

"Still, Watson is well known for her tenacious attitude so let's not write her off just yet."

Grigor Dimitrov is a very stylish man and a 6-3 6-0 6-4 dispatching of Federico Delbonis is a good look for summer 2015.

Heather Watson has coughed up her serve at the first time of asking out on court 12.

The British number trails 3-1 against France's Caroline Garcia.

Greg Rusedski is in the crowd to support Watson, sitting alongside her Argentine coach Diego Veronelli.

"Moment of concern for Mariana Duque-Marino while serving for the match. She crumbles to the lush court-three turf after failing to reach an accurate Broady return.

"One of the Colombian supporters jumps to her feet and shouts something in her native tongue as the rest of concerned crowd fall silent.

"The rest of the Spanish-speakers laugh heartily. I'm none the wiser.

"Anyway she regains her feet - but not her composure as she double faults on match point.

"Not for long. Cute drop-shot and a clinical volley completes the job in one hour and 27 minutes."

A double fault on the first match point, but there is no get out of jail free card for Naomi Broady on the second.

Mariana Duque-Marino lures her in with a drop-shot and then pats the reply back past her with a forehand volley to win the final point of the match.

"Those thinking of leaving court three for the train home have just thought the better of it.

"An ear-splitting roar rings around the now shade-filled arena as British number three Naomi Broady wipes out her Colombian opponent Mariana Duque-Marino's break at the first opportunity. More follow as the 25-year-old holds her serve easily.

"Stay tuned folks - this could be more exciting than tonight's Eastenders..."

"Seating is unreserved on court 12, where British number one Heather Watson has just had her match moved to, but be quick - it is filling up rapidly. Watson and French 32nd seed Caroline Garcia are warming up in what is left of the sunshine."

I reckon that Watson could take us all the way to dusk if she is in stubborn mood.
