    Court three

"In a less bright part of the UK (or world) and don't believe that it is 'scorch' in SW19? A pair of sun-shy couples on the court three crowd tell you otherwise.

"And the action on the grass is pretty hot too.

"Both British number three Naomi Broady - the 6ft 2in tall blonde with a booming serve - and her nimble Colombian opponent both hold serves in the opening four games.

"The empty seats are filling up pretty quickly, not much Wimbledon green to be seen now."

Stan Wawrinka clubs his way through the third-set tie-break to take it 7-3, along with victory.

That was all very smooth sailing.

World number one and defending champion Novak Djokovic has been speaking to the BBC after his win against Philipp Kohlschreiber and was asked why he was so animated following the win.

"I knew the quality of my opposition. I really don't take anything for granted. I try to respect everybody it's a win and I try to celebrate it," he said.

"I think the fact that last time I played - at the Roland Garros final - I lost means I still feel traces of that. I needed to feel good after that."

The Serb also said he thinks the controversy surrounding allegations of on-court coaching between the world number one and his coach Boris Becker has been blown out of proportion.

"I think so, but who am I to judge that. There are people who know better and I will leave the speculation to them. I would like to close this here.

"There is nothing I am hiding.

"I think the next match there will be a secret agent sat next to Boris, but we are doing what the majority of other players and coaches are doing."

"The delight of watching a match like this is that it is not a match between superstars, not a match where the prize money means nothing. This is the real deal, this is Wimbledon."

    Richard Krajicek
1996 Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 live

"Wawrinka has been holding his thigh. He looks a bit stiff, tired and sore from his performances at the French Open. It looks like he's trying to save himself for future games in this tournament."

Defending champion Petra Kvitova has been on Twitter keeping fans up to date with her preparations ahead of her match tomorrow.

She said: "Some final stretching then a quiet night at home with my team. See you all at 1pm tomorrow."

    Jonathan Jurejko

"The Wimbledon sun might be fading - but the interest in the British representatives certainly isn't.

"And it's a Briton by the name of Broady who is hoping to give the home fans something to cheer.

    Naomi Broady

"Not Liam who, of course, created headlines earlier by winning in five sets on his Grand Slam singles debut.

"Everyone is here to see if his sister Naomi can make it a memorable family double by beating Colombia's Mariana Duque-Marino.

"Still plenty of sunglasses and protective lotion in the SW19 air as the pair knock up ahead of their first-round tie."

Grigor Dimitrov was the man who ended Andy Murray's title defence last year with an eerily comfortable straight-sets quarter-final win over the Scot in front of a bemused Centre Court.

The Bulgarian has not quite followed up that win. Some expected him to be a regular fixture at the sharp end of the biggest events.

Instead he has yet to reach a final this year and was comfortably seen off by Andy Murray when they met again at the Australian Open at the start of the year.

He is mid-way through the first set against Argentina's Federico Delbonis.

  10. Tuesday's order of playpublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

The order of play has landed, hot and sweaty off the referee's office printer.

Andy Murray has third use of Centre Court - so, best guess, will be on court at around 16:00 BST in his match against Mikhail Kukushkin.

Women's champion Petra Kvitova gets things up and running on Centre Court with Roger Federer to follow against Bosnia's Damir Dzumhur.

Rafael Nadal is first on Court One against Thomaz Bellucci.

The shadows are creeping longer and longer on Centre Court.

There are a fair few green seats appearing among the sea of fedoras and pastel colours.

That is testament to Stan Wawrinka's efficiency. The French Open champion is constricting the life out of Joao Sousa on the main stage.

  12. Nishikori through to second roundpublished at 18:30 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

Kei Nishikori on BBC Two: "I'm very happy to win the match. He's a tough player on grass - we played five sets last year.

"My leg should be OK. It was a little bit sore last week, but it's getting better. It wasn't easy to play three hours."

"His calf is sore, he looked pretty lame at the end, but he's dragged himself over the line. He has talked so much about how this has been his least successful major and wanting to put that right. His body is letting him down though."

  14. Game, set and matchpublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 29 June 2015

Kei Nishikori, hampered by an ankle injury, has flopped over the finishline and into the second round.

He will play Colombia's Santiago Giraldo in the next round and will see plenty of the physio before then.

Earlier today Liam Broady beat Marinko Matosevic from two sets down and he's been speaking on BBC TV.

"I would have liked to go for a few more sets. The crowd played a massive part. When you have got a couple of thousand people behind you, it is hard to get tired.

"After the first match point I just I wanted to make myself proud. I knew this was a game I was never going to forget. I was just thinking, 'make him play, it's that simple'."

Michael Hackney: End of a distinguished era today. Lleyton Hewitt bows out of Wimbledon. Such a shame to lose in the first round though.

Gary Stockbridge: I think this is a fitting end for Hewitt, going down fighting like he always did, not crushed, which was the likely result v Novak

Katharine Pike: What a way to go out, fighting till the last point. Fantastic Hewitt
