    Jarkko Nieminen and Lleyton Hewitt

"Two 34-year-olds are going toe-to-toe in the fifth set on Court Two, and whoever loses out of Lleyton Hewitt and Jarkko Nieminen will not be back at Wimbledon next year - both have already said this is their final appearance at the AELTC.

"Jarkko has one noisy fan - who may actually be his coach - who keeps telling him to "go straight to the finish line". Shouldn't that be the Finnish line?

"Anyway, he is being drowned out by Hewitt's army of yellow-shirted "Fanatics" who have just launched into a chorus of "I believe that we will win". Nieminen has other ideas."

"After that first set, much better. Konta was a different player there. Much better, getting more pace on her shots, being more aggressive. That gets her a first break of the Sharapova serve."

"It's a good first game of the set for Konta, she clearly feels she's got nothing to lose now, and without that tension she can really play her own game and push Sharapova a little bit more."

    Justine Henin
Seven-time Grand Slam champion on BBC Radio 5 live

"Konta needs to keep doing what she's doing - but she needs to do it better. It's going to be tough from here because Sharapova has been just too good in this first set, and I hope the crowd can give Konta a little bit more support to help her try to change the course of this match."

Maria Sharapova has just had more in every department in the first set. Not a lot that Johanna Konta can do about that, except keep playing and hope that she hits a purple patch that might ruffle some feathers across the net.

Lleyton Hewitt just loves a five-setter so much, he cannot wait to get there.

The grizzled Australian battler, champion at Wimbledon in 2002, chucks the fourth set away to love against Jarko Niemien to get down and dirty in a decider.

On his tip for this year's men's singles champion.

"I think it is very difficult to look past Djokovic. He has been the dominant force, we were thinking he could be coming here looking for the calendar grand slam and it took that Wawrinka performance to disrupt that.

"For me Djokovic is the favourite but Murray is a close second."

Johanna Konta slips up on her second service game, planting a forehand wide to surrender her serve to love and give Maria Sharapova something to get her teeth into.

Sharapova poured a big bucket of cold water on British hopes in a similar situation back in 2011, putting away a young Laura Robson in straight sets on Court One.

"It's very difficult for Johanna Konta not to lose her match before she goes on court. It's an ideal time to play a big name but it'll take her a set to get used to being out there.

"Maria Sharapova will be nervous, she's not competed for a few weeks now due to illness and she'll be nervous despite all she's achieved in the game."

Novak Djokovic on BBC after his straight set victory over Germany's Phillip Kohlschreiber:

"Of course it's great to be back. This the cradle of our sport, Centre Court it doesn't get any bigger it is a privilege and honour to open this year's Wimbledon on Centre Court.

"As defending champion there is this history that is well respected here and considering the match I had a very tough opponent who can be very tricky on all surfaces and especially on the grass.

"Yes it could (have been tricky). I had got a break early in first and he broke straight back same thing in third. I made the crucial breaks at 5-4 in all three sets hopefully can stay that way."

On returning to the scene of his 2014 Wimbledon win.

"Of course only the dearest and best memories. You get butterflies in your stomach coming back to where you have won before."
