Edmund is pushing Goffin around the court and making the Belgian look like the junior. It's been a dreadful start for Goffin and you'd think this set has already gone. But the way tennis works the momentum will shift and the leading player can usually ride out a bad stretch.

It's incredible that the world number 16 has not yet won a game after 25 minutes. Edmund's consistent weight of shot is forcing Goffin back and he's rocking on his heels, hitting the net rather than the line.

This was a scoreline I guarantee you not one person in the stadium would have predicted. The Belgium crowd are stunned.

James Ward can put his feet up for the weekend at this rate.

Kyle Edmund is crawling all over David Goffin's groundstrokes, thumping winners like he is hitting on his local park court.

Break out the bunting, GB are a double break up in their least fancied tie and in dreamland.

    *Goffin 0-3 Edmund

    The Belgian crowd are divided.

There was a smatter of shouting during Kyle Edmund's ball toss in the previous game, met with boos of disapproval from the more polite home fans.

David Goffin finally gives them something to get behind as he wins the first two points on his own serve in authoritative style.

Kyle Edmund is hitting with superb depth though, peppering the baseline, and showing off his red-dirt smarts with slice backhand and slides out wide.

    Deuce and Goffin's brow furrows.

What a start for Kyle Edmund. To go out there and play like this, after that long ceremony. He comes out here, the first game was crucial and since then he is the one taking charge of the rallies.

Kyle Edmund wallops a clean-as-a-whistle ace for 30-0 and then slugs a pearl of a forehand down the line for 40-0.

A whipcrack of a serve and that is not coming back. Goffin lays a sniff of frame on the ball and he did well to do that.

What a start for Edmund. What a start for GB.

What an impressive way to start this match from Edmund. He has played incredible tennis and imposed his game on Goffin. This is a nightmare start for Goffin.
