I'd be telling Kyle Edmund 'this could be one of your greatest moments in your career, no matter what you go on and achieve, so just go for it'.

The whole crowd - Belgians and Brits alike - are chanting along with the riff from the White Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army'.

They love a bit of Meg and Jack at continental sports events.

Now it is time for David and Kyle. Players are back on court for the start of the decider. Goffin to serve.

Sometimes when it is so easy, the other guy can let rip a little bit. Kyle has to go out there and get physical.

  8. Game and fourth setpublished at 15:03

    *Goffin 3-6 1-6 6-2 6-1 Edmund

    A match of two halves.

The first two sets were all Kyle Edmund.

The last two were all David Goffin.

    We have a black-ball, winner-takes-all shoot-out to decide it.

  9. Edmund taken to deucepublished at 15:02

Kyle Edmund clinging on by his fingernails.

Fifteen-thirty down, he walloped down an ace, but a David Goffin backhand has him back to deuce.

  11. Goffin 3-6 1-6 6-2 5-1 Edmund*published at 15:00

David Goffin sees off that bit of danger and is now one game away from the fourth set.

Kyle Edmund has to serve to stay in it next.

  12. *Goffin 3-6 1-6 6-2 4-1 Edmundpublished at 14:58

David Goffin picks at the court surface, looking accusingly at the clay.

He has just duffed a strange little forehand into the tape to give Edmund a sniff at 30-30.

John E. Walsh: One gets the feeling #Goffin is going to win this first rubber now.

Roy: Goffin in the driving seat now. I've got a bad feeling about this!

Ollie: Andy Murray struggled playing 3 games on the trot against France so it won't be easy.

By my reckoning, David Goffin is now favourite to win this match for the first time in a long, long time.

He climbs into a return at 30-40, hammering away a double-fisted backhand as short and compact as a Mike Tyson bodyshot to take the game.

  16. Two break points Goffinpublished at 14:54

    Goffin 3-6 1-6 6-2 3-1 Edmund*

    We are back under way.

And a Kyle Edmund forehand wide has given David Goffin two break points at 15-40.

  17. Net brokenpublished at 14:50

    Goffin 3-6 1-6 6-2 3-1 Edmund*

David Goffin was patter-caking the ball back in the first two sets.

Now, he is hitting emphatic high-five winners.

A sweet-as-a-nut swat moves the Belgian 0-30 up.

Kyle Edmund nicks back a point on a marginal line ball.

But, hang on, more net issues. The net has come away from its moorings and the backroom boys are on to fix it, giving the players an impromtu break and a chance to talk to their men.

Slowly but surely Goffin is demonstrating why he is in the world's top 20.

  19. Goffin 3-6 1-6 6-2 3-1 Edmund*published at 14:47

Kyle Edmund gets his teeth into a second serve return, pushing David Goffin back deep just when he wants to come in.

He irritates the crowd as he wipes away the mark on a Goffin shot called long before any official can check and moves to 30-30.

Goffin plucks a couple of peachy shots out of the quiver and keeps hold of his break.
