Somewhere in the depths of the Flanders Expo centre, Andy Murray will be stretching off his hamstrings for a final time.

Britain's main man was absent from the sidelines of Kyle Edmund's five-set wrestle with David Goffin in preparation for his own singles rubber against Ruben Bemelmans.

Here to take you through it is Andy Cryer.

Belgium's David Goffin on BBC Two: "It was not easy. Kyle had good intentions and was really heavy with every forehand. It was hard for me to find my timing. I knew if Kyle was playing like this, bravo, but if there was a small chance I had to take it.

"He played really heavy and I was surprised. He played really aggressive with his forehand.

    "The atmosphere here is amazing."

Ron Walker: If anyone cares, when Goffin was KE's age, he was 203rd in the world. Kyle's 104 places higher. Experience tells.

Dave W: I suspect you can count on one hand the number of five set matches Kyle has played as a pro.

Richard Bicknell: Commentators reverting to the gallant loser routine, don't wash anymore we're better than that and the final was no place if true.

    Harsh words Richard, harsh words...

This game reminds me an awful lot of those early Andy Murray five-set matches.

It was great to see the level of tennis Kyle Edmund produced but he was not able to maintain it and Goffin finished very strongly to win it from a difficult position.

That was the match Belgium simply had to win to have any chance. Credit to Goffin, never before had he come from 2-0 down to win.

David Goffin, who has been straight-faced throughout that roller-coaster of a match finally breaks into celebration as Kyle Edmund splatters a forehand wide.

The Belgian points repeatedly at the red clay beneath his feet before heading off to hug each team-mate in turn.

Kyle definitely has a shot of reaching the top 50. He has a couple of big weapons in the serve and backhand.

David Goffin is sprinting for home. The Belgian is picking off the tiring Edmund with nagging consistency.

Edmund's skills are not lasting the five-set trip that he so rarely takes, spending most of his time on the second-tier Challenger tour.
