Murray 6-4 6-4 2-2 Tomic*
Tomic looked like a beaten man in that last game, all stooped shoulders and limp racquet. But he's pulled out a couple of plums in this Murray service game, including a punched backhand winner down the line. More good trading by Tomic and Murray bunts a lob long to hand his rival three surprise break points. Tomic blows one, tugging a forehand miles long, but grabs the second, forcing Murray to flip into the net after a penetrating return.

"There's no real sense of expectation in the crowd here. They are encouraging Tomic but they don't really believe it. Bernard Tomic is a beaten man."
*Murray 6-4 6-4 2-1 Tomic
Tomic with a flimsy backhand into the net for 15-30 and he follows up with a double-fault. The crowd hushed and it's even husher as Tomic balloons a forehand miles long. Tame defeat, Murray could humble the Aussie from here.

Well remembered James. Had almost forgotten Jamie in all the excitement.
Murray pierces Tomic's defences with a backhand down the line before pulling out a penetrating second serve for 30-0. Another ace out wide before Tomic yanks a backhand return into the tramlines.
Tomic looks like he's decided to throw caution to the wind at the start of the third set and he does the business with a couple of forehand winners. Tomic, wrists of stone, misses with another forehand volley before the Aussie floats a forehand long for deuce. Another deuce as Tomic is unable to deal with a ferocious Murray backhand return but the Aussie does eventually hold.
Murray races into a 40-0 lead for three set points and finishes things off with his 12th ace. For all Tomic's efforts, Murray is bullying him out there, with the Aussie only able to land with the odd glancing blow.
Tomic comes to the net and is beaten but restores parity with a backhand winner. Tomic blows a forehand long before Murray does the same, despite an optimistic challenge. No service game is easy for Tomic today and this one, too, is taken to deuce as Tomic nets with a forehand. Bit of tit-for-tat at the net ends with Murray netting with an angled backhand and the Aussie forces Murray to serve out for the set.

We can answer that one, Tony.
1977 was the year, the Australian Open the event and Sue Barker, Robin Drysdale and John Lloyd were the players.
Tomic puts away a flashing backhand down the line for 15-30 but Murray imposes himself with some hefty hitting on the forehand flank before finishing things off with some smart work at the net.
That's some shot from Tomic, a threaded forehand down the line for 30-30, and he makes it 40-30 with a simple backhand volley. Good, solid hold by Tomic, he hasn't given up by any means.
Murray wins an entertaining rally after Tomic is forced to scurry backwards and shovel a forehand long on the swivel. Murray kills a volley stone dead to hold.
Good scrambling from Tomic finished with a backhand that Murray can only scoop into the base of the net. But Murray hits back before Tomic slides an attempted drop-shot into the net to hand Murray two more break points. Tomic saves one and saves the second with his fourth ace...
Murray with a couple of wrong-footing backhands for another break point but he can only bunt a tame return into the net. Tomic nets with a forehand from behind the baseline but claws his way back into the game and does eventually hold.
After three hours and four minutes, Konta did it, beat Ekaterina Makarova to reach the quarter-finals.
The Briton will play either 15th seed Madison Keys or China's Shuai Zhang.
Murray with an easy hold, and he needed one of those...
