It might not be a Grand Slam or a Masters event, but in pure tennis terms Queen's Club has hosted some of the best tennis Murray has played in his career, and today's final will be right up there. 

Breaking the Raonic serve on grass four times is a spectacular effort and a huge boost as he heads into a key week of practice ahead of Wimbledon.

Andy Murray on BBC One: "This tournament has loads of history with unbelievable crowds and always a strong field.

"It's a pleasure to play in front of someone like John McEnroe and any time you can do something a bit better than someone like him, then that's amazing.

"To win here for a fifth time means a lot for me. It was nice of Ivan to stick around for the presentation!"

Andy Murray on BBC One: "I guessed on a few serves and gained a bit of confidence on the returns but he's got a huge serve and sometimes it's just too good.

"But I got more of a feel for the speed of serves as the match went on."

Milos Raonic on BBC One: "Congratulations to Andy for winning for a fifth time but I'm sure it's not nearly as special as having your first fathers' day as well.

"It's my first grass match on a Sunday and hopefully we can have a rematch in a couple of Sundays.

"I've made good progress and improved every day here and hopefully I can be at my best in a fortnight."

That's the first time Andy Murray has won the Queen's title on an even year - 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and now 2016.

A relief for superstitious people everywhere. 

Milos Raonic is first up to receive his runners up champagne. The crowd give him a great response. They seemed to thoroughly enjoy that match.

Full credit to Murray. He looked out of it mentally but he turned it around with a fine performance.

Milos Raonic serves ace number 14 (the correct number this time, I promise) to go to advantage.

But a Murray backhand winner down to the baseline brings us back to deuce.

And then Raonic can only drive into the net. Advantage Murray and a third match point.

One match and championship point saved by Raonic with a lovely lob. 

And the same again! This time he leaps high at the net to send it over.

We go to deuce.

First blood to Murray on Raonic's serve.

But the Canadian responds with the 4,845th ace of the game (maybe an exaggeration).

But Murray is back ahead again after responding to a Raonic power house.

And now...two match points. 

Andy Murray looks like he's cruising on his service game, until he has a slight wobble.

As he goes for a huge forehand winner, he gets the angle wrong and it goes crashing into the net.

But the British number one follows it up with an ace for 40-15 before seeing it out with a delicate backhand.

Andy Murray has upped his game and timed his effort superbly this week. Djokovic remains his greatest challenge at Wimbledon of course.

Huge cheers from the crowd as Murray snatches the first point on Raonic's serve. 

But then mumbles and grumbles come from the Scotsman as he makes two errors and Raonic goes 30-15 ahead.

A sensational volley from an on-rushing Raonic, followed by an ace, sees the world number nine hold.
