Andy Murray and Milos Raonic have emerged from the patterned corridors out on to the snug court at Queen's Club.

Both players walk out alongside young mascots Cameron and Lewis, who are patients from the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea.

    A lovely touch.

  3. 'Returning serves one of my strengths'published at 14:19 British Summer Time 19 June 2016

Andy Murray on BBC One: "Raonic has one of the biggest serves in the game and on grass, with the speed of the court, it's tougher to return the ball, but I enjoy the challenge and it's been one of my strengths.

"Trying to win here for the fifth time would be a big achievement for me."

Murray's assistant coach Jamie Delgado on BBC One: "This is one of the few matches where Raonic's serve can take things out of Andy's hands, especially the body serve he has introduced.

"Andy will have to focus on his service games but also needs to take charge of Milos' second serve. That's where his chance will come.

"Andy is fully aware of what a fifth title would mean but he's fully focused on the match and the tactics."

Four-time winners McEnroe, Becker, Hewitt, Roddick, Emerson - they are huge names in tennis - but it's a British event so it's a big deal for Murray.

But Raonic is perhaps even more up for it because he's never won a grass-court title and it's the first week he's been working with McEnroe and he wants to start it well.

"He hasn't changed a bit!" John McEnroe said with a big grin when asked earlier this week about bumping into his old rival Ivan Lendl.

The pair took frostiness to unimagined heights during their playing days but both seem to be enjoying a return to the fray.

Lendl apparently took no prisoners with his acerbic wit when he first strode through the player lounge on Tuesday, while McEnroe has been showing his customary swagger around the place - all tattoos and baseball cap.

There's a nice little subplot to today's proceedings: the first meeting of former rivals Ivan Lendl and John McEnroe as opposing coaches.

Murray reunited with Lendl this week for a second spell, while McEnroe began working with Raonic last month.

The pair had a fierce rivalry during their playing days.

They met on court 36 times over 12 years, with Czech Lendl winning 21 matches - including a semi-final victory at Queen's in 1990.

They also both had fabulous hair/dress sense back in the day...

Earlier today, Laura Robson had to retire from her qualifying match against American Madison Brengle at Eastbourne because of a thigh injury.

The former British number one, 22, arrived on court with heavy strapping around her right leg and fell a set and a break behind before pulling out.

No word yet on the extent of her injury, which comes four days after she was awarded a Wimbledon wildcard.

Milos Raonic: the big man with the big ol' serve.

The 6ft 5in Canadian goes into the final against Andy Murray having won all 47 service games he has played this week. He's offered up only one break point so far - in his semi-final win over Australian Bernard Tomic.

This is Raonic's first grass court final, having reached 17 on hard courts.

Andy Murray is looking for a record fifth title at Queen's today.

He picked up the trophy last year against South African Kevin Anderson, adding to previous titles in 2009, 2011 and 2013.

A win against Milos Raonic would take Murray past four-time champions Boris Becker, Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Roddick, Roy Emerson and John McEnroe.

Not a bad list of names, I suppose.

This is more like it. After a week of cloud and rain, finals day is to be played out in a pleasing 20C with a gentle breeze. There's a (polite) buzz of anticipation as last-minute champagne is quaffed, while behind the scenes an air of relief that we look like getting this done on time.
