    *Murray 5-7 7-6 (7-3) 5-0 Gasquet

Advantage Murray now, for a fourth break point. But he can only return into the net. Deuce again.

Another advantage for Murray - break point number five. Will he take it?

Yes! A cracking cross-court winner sees him break for a third time in this set.

As Ronan Keating once said (sort of): life (tennis) is a rollercoaster.

    *Murray 5-7 7-6 (7-3) 4-0 Gasquet

When I said one-way traffic, I really meant it. Triple break point to Andy Murray.

The Scotsman hits long past the baseline to rescue one for Gasquet and then plants a backhand wide.

One left to play for...but Gasquet rescues that one as well and we go to deuce.

Tom Dodd: Watching Murray is like trying to cut into Sunday roast with chopsticks. It'll probably work eventually. But it takes ages.

Terence Baker: Watching Murray is like watching England 7/8ths of the way towards penalty kicks in a quarter final of a major tournament...

    Murray 5-7 7-6 (7-3) 4-0 *Gasquet

As Richard Gasquet sits down for a break, he starts snarling at the umpire about the time violation he's just been handed. He wasn't happy it came just before break point.

Andy Murray is also having a chunter about the camera hovering above his head as he serves.

A right pair of Moaning Myrtles we have here.

Anyway, Murray holds to lead 4-0. This is all one-way traffic at the moment.

    *Murray 5-7 7-6 (7-3) 3-0 Gasquet

Some whistles and cheers, and a shrug of the shoulders from Richard Gasquet, as his error hands Andy Murray break point. He's also been given a time violation by the umpire.

Is the Frenchman rattled? Perhaps. He can only hit into the net as Murray breaks again.

Mike's gone for a lie down to recover from all the drama, so this is Caroline back behind the keyboard of joy/doom.

You'll be pleased to know Andy Murray is still shouting at himself. "Hit the ball," he screams in frustration as he lets Gasquet into his service game for 15-all.

Murray then hangs his head in shame as he fails to complete a simple drop-shot. 15-30.

Then it's Gasquet's turn to shake his head in disgust. The Frenchman hits some quite remarkable return shots from the back of the court, but then completely skews one wide.

Murray manages to see out his service game to take a 2-0 lead.

More good news from the first game of the third set.

Andy Murray sprays a sublime running forehand across court at 40-30 to buy his way to deuce.

Another jaw-dropper of a winner gives Murray break point.

Gasquet saves that one. But Murray, slithers on the ropes, defends for his life and brings up another.

Gasquet dumps a backhand into the net and suddenly Philippe Chatrier is eerie quiet.

Niall Abrahams: Big set for Murray there. He would only have had himself to blame if he'd lost that, even with the way Gasquet has been playing!

    Murray 5-7 7-6 (7-3) *Gasquet

Murray to serve first. Here we go, this is a biggie.

And Andy Murray walks the drop-shot tight-rope once more. This one is a beaut. 1-0.

Richard Gasquet pummels off the backhand to win one, and then two, points off his own serve. 2-1 and on serve.

Murray misses with his first serve. And his second. Mini-break Gasquet. 3-1.

Murray belatedly finds an ace in the quiver. 3-2, but two Gasquet serves to come.

Break-back! Murray  cracks away a forehand as the net cord flicks up a Gasquet poke down the line to give him the time and angle to find the open court.

Advantage Murray! The Scot climbs into a second-serve return and the see-saw settles his way. 4-3 with a mini-break.

Backed up with a point on serve. 5-3.

Murray rushes in to punch away a forehand volley. 6-3.

And then, as Gasquet gives up the ghost, he slides away into open court 7-3 and finally the second set is his.

Apologies  for the dramatic pause. We have had a couple of technological problems at BBC towers.

Hopefully we are back in business now though. This second set went to a tie-break. This is how it went down.

Gasquet's backhand is a looker, but it gets the hard graft done as well.

Another enormous slug off that wing is too deep and too powerful for Murray to get back into court.

Richard Gasquet's backhand is a looker no doubt.

    All flourish and follow-through.

It gets the hard graft done though. A monster slug of that wing is too deep and too powerful for Murray to get back into court.

Richard Gasquet scrapes a ball off his ribs and in as Andy Murray goes straight at him in another net exchange full of touch and bluff.

That instinctive winner gives the Frenchman 15-15 and he has clambered back to 40-30.

Murray hammers away like Foreman on the heavy bag though to take us to deuce.

First serve missed. Into a rally on the second.

A ballistic backhand from Gasquet, Murray groping wide and he can't get the ball back in play.

    *Murray 5-7 5-3 Gasquet

Richard Gasquet uncorks the champagne, pinging backhands out of the sweet spot, forcing Murray back and sliding away a volley for 0-30.

    The French resistance lives.

Andy Murray puts a dampened dainty drop-volley away and then finds a much-needed first serve to bring up 30-30.

But Richard Gasquet has found the more cutting angle in an exchange of forehands. 30-40 and break point.

Murray comes in and softly, softly puts away the drop-volley.

    Deuce.

Richard Gasquet keeps his cards on the table with a hold to love.

Now, he need to turn back Andy Murray from the brink of the second set.

The fuzz is heading up to the Scotsman's end of the court. He will serve for parity next.
