    Giorgi 2-6 7-5 4-6 Muguruza

It was a match that seemed to be being played on quicksand rather than grass, but finally Garbine Muguruza is through.

The Spanish seed sure took her time.

The difference between the two of them is in execution. Berankis has tried to dictate points but his execution is lacking. Just this match, just seizing the opportunity, big strikes, you've got to say Willis deserve that break.

Sachin Govind: I remember Marcus Willis training at Bisham 10 years ago and today he's a set away from 2nd round Wimbledon.

Joe McArdle: Played @Willbomb90, external In juniors in Oxford. Was 6-0 5-2 up & somehow lost. Dad left me there & I had to find my own way back to Brum.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Anyone else ever met/played against/lost to Marcus Willis?

That is a big first hold.

It is always small steps in a big match and to get that hold when facing a few break points is a good sign for Laura.

This is just incredible at the moment. Berankis has come from two sets down twice in his career so he's got previous in having done this and I think that's important mentally.

I doubt you'll see a better match in terms of ball striking at Wimbledon this year.

Often you like to have contrast but I am finding this a very good match to watch.

  14. Robson v Kerber coming uppublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 27 June 2016

Laura Robson beat Germany's Angelique Kerber in the first round at Wimbledon back in 2011.

But the British southpaw has suffered a run of rotten luck since then and sunk to 283rd in the world, while Kerber won her maiden Grand Slam at the Australian Open in January.

They are about to get underway on Court One.
