    Berankis 3-6 3-3 Willis

    Guy McCrea

Willis' first-serve percentage is going below 50 for the set which is telling. The lack of first serves is putting the second ball under pressure. He's starting to read Willis' direction on the second and the double faults aren't helping. That's an area Willis has to address in the second set.

What I really like about Muguruza is there isn't any sign of 'I have won Paris and I'll come to Wimbledon and see what happens.'

There is no doubt she wants to be number one and a multiple Grand Slam champion and she thinks her time is now.

This could turn out to be one of the best matches of the women's tournament.

The Spaniard has just broken Giorgi's serve to take the early advantage in the deciding set.

Do, do, do. Another one bites the dust.

British number three Naomi Broady is out after going down 2-6 3-6 in exactly an hour against seventeenth seed Elina Svitolina.

The Ukranian will now face Yaroslava Shvedova in the second round.

Marcus Willis is still more than holding his own Ricardas Berankis.

The 25-year-old had only entered one tournament this year before Wimbledon pre-qualifying and earned 67 dollars - about £50 - in prize money.

Naomi Broady could be on her way out here.

The British number three is serving to stay in the match against seventeenth seed Elina Svitolina of Ukraine.

If Nishikori can pull this out the weather report is not good so if he can pull it out he may get an extra day's rest.

Nishikori has needed a medical time out in the third set but the match is back under way now.

    *Giorgi 2-6 7-5 1-1 Muguruza

Former British number one on BBC TV

Muguruza now needs to use her tactical brain because this game is being played on Giorgi's terms.

She is giving Giorgi the match that she wants.

It's 18 years since Roger Federer won the boys' singles at Wimbledon.

The rest, as they say, is history.

The seven-time champion starts his 2016 campaign on Centre Court against Guido Pella. His match follows the conclusion of Muguruza v Giorgi.

Wesley Whitehouse who won the title the year before Federer by the way never made the top 200 of men's tennis.

Milos Raonic is safely through to the second round. The Canadian - under the wing of John McEnroe - delivered a total of 26 aces to blow Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta out of the water in straight sets.

There was very little in that set it was always going to be a few points here and there.

For Giorgi to hold serve for an entire set is quite unusual.

Room for one more? Hardly a shoebox of space around Court 18 as the home fans elbow their way into a vantage point to cheer on Dan Evans.

Union Jack watch: I've spotted one on the shoulders of a brunette lady sat in the bigger stand at one end of the court. But she's using that to stop her shoulders burning.

    Broady 2-6 Svitolina

Seventeenth seed Elina Svitolina has breezed the first set 6-2 against British number three Naomi Broady.

The Ukrainian finished it off with a beautiful forehand winner into the corner.

Just prior to that, while attempting to return a mammoth serve, Broady almost clipped the head of an unsuspecting ball boy on the sidelines.

He looked very relieved as it skimmed his bonce by a millimeter.
