There are a couple of things Novak is probably thinking right now: why did he leave Ward off the hook and he is recognising Ward is lifting. When you're a target like Novak is, you're used to seeing players have spikes. It doesn't mean it's not frustrating.

I like what I am seeing, James seems to be letting go with his shots and is relaxed.

The crowd is behind him now so let's hope he can keep on doing that.

An important hold of serve from Britain's James Ward sees him move level in the second set against world number one Novak Djokovic.

The Serb is looking a little rattled now. He must be wondering how he's let Ward back into this match.

It was a pretty poor game from Novak.

    What a wonderful moment.

James Ward  whacks an ace down court to win his first game of the match.

Huge, huge cheers erupt from Centre Court and Ward raises his arms in jubilation, like he's won the whole damn tournament.

Novak Djokovic also gives him a clap on the raquet. Brilliant stuff.

    Afternoon, all.

We've had some changes in the commentary box, but it's normal service on centre court.

Novak Djokovic easily holds his service game at the start of the second set and then breaks James Ward at the first opportunity.

The Briton really needs to get a game on the board. And sharpish.

Chris Goldsmith: Lunch Time.... .@DjokerNole, external obviously felt hungry and fancied a bagel 6-0 over James Ward

Myles Stedman: Ward needs to completely erase that first set from memory. Make set two the start of a new match altogether

Tony Bickley: Djokovic making light work of his first round game. Can't see Ward picking up a single game at this rate...

    Bagels. Surprisingly calorific.

And distinctly unappetising when served up on Centre Court like that.

James Ward suffers a third successive break of serve to concede the set without having made an impression on the scoreboard.

Caroline Chapman is ready to take you through the next little bit.

    Men against boys.

And incredibly tall men at that.

Ivo Karlovic, 37, has unleashed that Rottweiler serve on fellow Croat Borna Coric, 19, in two separate tie-breaks.

    The older man leads 7-6 (10-8) 7-6 (9-7) 1-2.

There isn't anything Ward is doing terribly. He is not playing that bad but he is against Novak Djokovic, the number one in the world.

Ward might has well try and come to the net and be a bit more aggressive, it is a bit difficult to beat Novak Djokovic from the baseline.

The difference to me is that even though they are similar, Ward lacks power.

Djokovic's shots are faster and deeper.
