Djokovic is getting through this but he has been inconsistent.

There have been a lot of unforced errors and Ward is making it uncomfortable for him.

Ward has just produced an excellent service game to hold. Djokovic is still a break up in the third, though.

Hats off to James Ward he played an amazing second set.

He was more relaxed, his shots were harder, deeper and he went more for the shots.

It just came down to a couple of important points when he made mistakes and when you do that against someone like Novak Djokovic, it is difficult to win the set.

There's no doubt that Novak does want to grab records and he's setting himself up for longevity. He's trying to beat not only Roger Federer, but also time because he needs time to get to 17 Grand Slams.

He certainly has the game to do it. He's the only one since I've been around who's favourite in all four majors. He has a genuine look at a golden slam this year.

A couple of things have changed. Obviously the scoreboard, but Wardy has upped that pace on the return of serves and he's forced Novak to change a little bit what was gong on with his backhand, because of the additional pace he's gone away from what was a winning strategy.

James Ward has break point on Novak Djokovic's serve - his ninth of the match. The crowd are loving it!

But Djokovic snatches the score back to deuce and then takes the advantage.

The Serbian eventually sees out the game to lead 6-5, denying Ward the chance to serve for the set. But the Briton is still matching the world number one in terms of performace at the moment.
