    Benneteau 6-4 4-6 4-6 2-6 Nishikori

    Earlier, fifth seed Kei Nishikori moved into the third round after beating world number 547 Julien Benneteau of France by three sets to one.

    "I started playing more aggressively and it wasn't an easy match," Nishikori told BBC Sport. "I've been playing well and hopefully I can keep doing so."

    * Murray 5-3 Lu

    All the momentum with Murray, and Lu's early accuracy starting to fade - forehand long, break points, another forehand long, and the match has switched round at pace - Murray will serve for the set...

    The top guys come out firing hard, but also keep something back. As the set wore on and he saw that Lu was sharp, Murray knew he needed to do something to stop the first set drifting away from him - and he was able to do it.

    Lu is definitely more confident and more consistent with that backhand. But if you only get in one of six first serves in against Murray you won't win many games.

  7. Yen-Hsun Lu looking to give it a gopublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 30 June 2016

    Despite that break back Yen-Hsun Lu showed he is definitely not just here to make up the numbers, when he broke Murray in the first game of this match.

    Murray 4-3 Lu *

    Mmm, the slow-motion treat of a topspin lob winner. Murray to 40-0, briefly detained by a lucky net-cord, into the lead for the first time with a thrashing forehand that leave's Lu's shoes smoking.

    * Murray 3-3 Lu

    Now then. Murray forehand cross-court, and Lu can only fend that into the net - forehand follows the same way, and that's two break points, the first saved by a meaty first serve, the second into a mammoth baseline rally - Murray lucky with one that skips off the net-cord and lands safe, and now Lu in for a drop-shot, flicking it up and away... wide!

    Early days yet, but second seed Garbine Muguruza has not started very well against Jana Cepelova over on Court One.

    The Spaniard has been broken in her opening service game.

    Murray 2-3 Lu *

    Roof tucked back, if you're not in a position to crane your neck, with grey clouds drifting by. Nice from Murray, coming in to flick a winner cross-court. Lu a quarter-finalist here in 2010, the same year he climbed as high as 33 in the world rankings.

    At the moment Lu is in the zone. He has nothing to lose and a lot to gain. You assume when Murray gets his act together he will do everything better. But he needs it to turn around sooner rather than later.

    Lu has really come out wanting this match. High intensity, aggressive and finding depth from the lines. Making things difficult for Murray so far.

    * Murray 1-3 Lu

    Lu has a pleasing rolling two-handed backhand, and there's plenty of juice on that flat forehand too. Murray not within a sniff of a break-back, and this contest has started with pleasant spice.

    Murray 1-2 Lu *

    Lu out of the traps like a white-clad greyhound, taking Murray to 30 in this service game after a delightful exchange of rapier forehands from beyond the baseline. Murray squeaks home, to relieved applause from a still patchy crowd on Centre. Don't worry, they'll be back - a few full bladders and bleary eyes after the preceding four-setter.

    Chill those boots, nothing runs to the script these days. Lu no mug - he might be out at 76 in the rankings, but he's on an 11-match winning streak on grass. Albeit all those victories coming at Challenger level.
