This is currently the back of the queue and it snakes across 10 very orderly lines. Some people are looking through their booklets, picking out which matches they want to see. Others are napping, and some kids are even having a knock about with a tennis ball.

Plenty of big names have been farmed out to the far reaches of Wimbledon as the officials try and clear the fixture backlog.

It might not do their egos any good, but it is good for fans holding ground passes.

Five-time champion Venus Williams plays Maria Sakkari in the second match out on Court 18.

Andrea Petkovic - one of the women's game's entertainers - against Elina Vesnina on Court Five could be worth a visit.

And the potential grind-fest between David Ferrer and Nicolas Mahut is likely to keep Court 16 busy.

Michael and Michael are currently on their travels around the world but have stopped off at Wimbledon for the day.

"We were hoping to see Federer and some fellow Australians," they said. "I know Tomic is playing today, but no one like him."

    Poor Bernard.

It is straight into the fray for British number two Heather Watson whose first-round meeting with Annika Beck is into a decider. Watson trails 1-0 and a break in that set and will need to come out with all guns blazing.

Over on Court Three, Dan Evans could also do with a fast start. The British number four will go straight into a first-set tie break against Alexsandr Dolgopolov.

It is also the start of the doubles and there will be a conflict of interest for British fans as Jamie Murray and his Brazilian partner Bruno Soares take on Briton Colin Fleming and Jonathan Erlich of Israel in the final match on court 18.

Over on Court One, Gilles Simon and Grigor Dimitrov have completed just one game of their second round match.

That will resume on serve in the opener with big-hitting of Garbine Muguruza and the latest next big thing in men's tennis - Austria's Dominic Thiem to follow.

This was the last ticket in the queue at 10:07 BST. Although there were still people flooding down to join the line for day four at the time of taking.

The security guards and officials were still advising that those joining will get in today. It may be a wait, but they will get in.

An unpredictable match-up between fifth seed Kei Nishikori and France's Julien Benneteau - a former top-25 player who has lost in the first round of every Tour event he has played in 2016 as he continues his comeback from injury - is first up on Centre Court.

    Eugenie Bouchard v Johanna Konta

    Lindsay Davenport
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

There are probably five or six floaters the seeds don't want to play, Monica Puig was one of them.

The problem is it doesn't get much easier for Johanna Konta, she now plays Eugenie Bouchard.

I'm not sure Konta is a contender, you obviously start small. Having never won a match here her goal is probably second week, then last-16 or quarters.

She's a fantastic athlete, hits the ball well and she wants it.

  9. Bouchard v Konta at approx 16:30 BSTpublished at 10:31 British Summer Time 30 June 2016

We have a double helping of British number ones on Centre Court today.

Johanna Konta will be at the gate, tutting and checking her watch, at the closing stage of Andy Murray and Yen-Hsun Lu's match, waiting for her slot.

She will take on Eugenie Bouchard, who after a breakout run to the 2014 final, has not graced the sharp end of as many big tournaments as the marketing men would have liked.

The last time that Bouchard beat a player ranked as highly as world number 19 Konta was way back in September 2014.

We are guesstimating 16:30 BST for that one.

  10. Lu v Murray at approximately 15:00 BSTpublished at 10:27 British Summer Time 30 June 2016

Of course, Andy Murray rarely has to worry about the weather disrupting his Wimbledon campaign.

The British number one is as much a part of the Centre Court furniture as the umpire's chair.

Come rain, shine or snow, he will be taking on Chinese Tapei's Yen-Hsun Lu - ranked 78th in the world - second on the main stage.

We expect that match to start around very approximately around 15:00 BST.

The rain was so persistent yesterday that, for the first time since 2007, ticket-holders could claim refunds for the lack of play.

Less than an hour on Court One meant that fans on that court are entitled to a full 100% of their ticket price back.

There was between one and two hours play on Courts Two and Three so spectators there can claim back half face value. And all those with ground passes bought before 17:00 BST can also get 50% of their money returned.

The good news is that we have a clear-looking run today to get some serious tennis on and avoid bringing in rock, paper scissors in place of final sets.

The organisers have brought forward the start of play on the outside courts to 11:00 BST to try and make the most of it.

    Fingers crossed everyone.

In theory, we should be completing the men's and women's singles second-round matches today.

There are still 14 first-round matches to finish though and four of those have not even started yet with the likes of Timea Bacsinszky and Kristina Mladenovic yet to hit a single ball in anger at the championships.

The order of play is backed up worse than the M4 on a August bank holiday weekend.

On a good year, a court coverer's role involves little more than rigging up the net, kicking back at the side of the court, slipping on some day-glo shades and slowly turning a deep shade of chestnut.

    Not yesterday.

The taurpaulin was tugged back and forth, on and off as showers spattered the All England Club and kept play to a minimum.

Forty-one of the matches scheduled for yesterday were postponed without having been started. Another 15 have been suspended for the day.

Tournament referee Andrew Jarrett says that play on the middle Sunday is not being considered. Yet.

There will be more aching muscles among the court coverers than the players this morning at Wimbledon.
