Almost unbroken blue up above Court no.1, and yet there has been no tennis for almost an hour. In other sporting arenas there would be rioting; here, spectators are brushing their hair, eating cheese baps and offering total strangers their Tang-fastics.

Sam was a nervous wreck as well. He's serving huge so it's really frustrating for Novak. He's generally made of tough stuff but not so far in this round.

I would never have picked this but Querrey came out swinging yesterday and Novak went into a bit of a meltdown.

Now then...where were we? Ah yes, Novak Djokovic is serving to stay in Wimbledon 2016. No drama.

Djokovic and Sam Querrey emerge from the tunnel on Court One yet again.

Hopefully this is the last time.

John Millman is going to have to smash and grab a break if he can. I don't think that stealth is going to work.

There's talk of it being more humid when the roof is closed, heavier conditions, it's harder to generate pace.

    Millman 3-6 2-1 *Murray

John Millman clambers into a second-serve return with his hobnail boots on. A whopper down the line for 15-15.

Andy Murray tugs a forehand wide on the next point under no pressure what so ever. The radar is a bit wonky and Murray is 15-30 down.

    Creaky.

Murray recovers to 40-30, but again sees his second serve gobbled up with a return winner.

    Deuce.

"We have an announcement about the weather...and it's good news," says the WImbledon lady over the tannoy.

Waaaaaaaaaaaahey, scream the crowds on the outside courts.

Play to resume shortly and it looks clear for the rest of the day. Result.

    Millman 3-6 2-1 *Murray

Andy Murray goes for the small targets as he attempts to chase down John Millman's 30-0 lead.

A backhand slice drop-shot tight-rope walks along the net cord before dropping on British territory.

A death-or-glory cross-court forehand misses its mark and that is Millman home and hosed.

Judy Murray is back in the Royal Box to watch her son pin John Millman to the backboards with a hail of precise serves.

I think Mother Murray's poker face is getting better. Although this match is perhaps not the one to test her ability to keep her emotions hidden.

John Millman whips away a forehand down the line after a hefty netcord invites him in. That is the one point he needed to seal the game.

    *Millman 3-6 0-0 Murray

Andy Murray and John Millman come back out on Centre Court for a knock-up.

A Mexican wave goes around the grand old stage as the players get their eye back in.

David Beckham and Gordon Banks earn big cheers as they get their arms in the air in an otherwise deserted Royal Box.

I think the rest of the VIPs have gone for some refreshment.

We will restart with John Millman serving at 40-0 up in the opening game of the second set.

Watch this unfortunate incident as one unlucky fan in the front row gets a Steve Johnson return in the face.

  16. No play before 16:45 BSTpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 2 July 2016

Even the Voice of Wimbledon sounds a little deflated by the weather.

There will be no play before 16:45 BST because of more showers loitering in the SW19 area.

  17. Roof on Centre Courtpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 2 July 2016

The All England Club often insist as a point of principle that Wimbledon is an outdoor tournament and so the roof should not be used as a precaution.

All very well. But things are getting a little silly.

The roof is coming across because the weather is making mugs off all of us on Centre Court.

There will be a short delay before the resumption of play as the air conditioning is turned on and the rest of it.

Spare a thought for Petra Kvitova and Ekaterina Makarova.

These two are still stuck on their second round match on Court Two. It's been going on for days.

The weather gods have really not been in their favour.

    Holy moly.

John Millman and Andy Murray come back out, play three points and the heavens open once more.

Millman motions to the ceiling as the covers come whipping across again.

    Quite. Roof time surely.
