    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

This is the most interesting match.

I think Kyrgios will be a multiple Grand Slam champion in the future but I don't think he is there yet and isn't mentally tough enough for the guy who I think is playing the best in the competition.

Evening all, Fordyce here, how's the mood? Genuine lip-smacker of a contest coming up here, a clash between the young gun and the home guard, the mouth and the magic, the eyes-out attacker and the indomitable defence.

There are certain wins in the tournament that you just go through and then there are statement wins and that was a statement.

The way she went through she was utterly dominant, she looked unbeatable.

Serena Williams speaking to BBC TV: It was really good to win. She has played really well against me in the past and beat me earlier this year so I knew I had to play well to win.

It was really tricky out there. It wasn't raining hard but was dewy and on the grass you can fall easy and then you think should I run or not and it became more difficult because of that.

In order to win a tournament you usually have to play quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals back to back.

So I thought Serena, you have done this over 70, 80 times, so for me it is an easy transition.

  9. Pavlyuchenkova next for Serenapublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 4 July 2016

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova - another Russian - is the next rabbit in Serena Williams' headlights.

The 21st seed has never been beyond the third round at Wimbledon before this year. She might be wise to savour the last-eight air while she can.

Sue Barker has coyly introduced "you know who" on BBC One. Time for me to introduce Tom Fordyce on the live text keys

  10. Game and third set Raonicpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 4 July 2016

    Goffin 6-4 6-3 4-6 Raonic

The comeback is on on court two.

Sixth seed Milos Raonic holds to love and takes the third set against David Goffin of Belgium.

Looks like the mini rain break did wonders for the Canadian.

And Serena seals it with a break to love.

That was an absolute mincing for world number 14 Kuznetsova.

Time to trim those odds bookmakers.

Note to Serena Williams' future opponents: keep the Centre Court roof open at all costs.

Since the lid has been slid across the main arena, Serena has won seven straight games and her game has risen to the stratosphere.

She is a game away from the quarter-finals.

If Serena does win this match she will play her quarter-final tomorrow and that means she will play three days in a row.

That is where winning convincingly helps and that started yesterday against Beck and now today.

    S Williams 7-5 5-0 Kuznetsova

Good positive re-start for the Canadian. The first service game back is always a potential banana skin.

    S Williams 7-5 3-0 Kuznetsova*

    Lindsay Davenport
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

Svetlana seemed to give in too easily (about closing the roof). It's just a given, everybody knows that Serena with the roof closed is even more unbeatable. Maybe she really did feel it would risk her own movement and possibly injury.

    Terminator mode on.

Defending champion Serena Williams is mashing every groundstroke, middling every serve and plucking sublime angles out of her back pocket.

Andy Murray v Nick Kyrgios is up next on Centre Court. They might not be waiting much longer.

  20. Serena breakspublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 4 July 2016

Serena Williams has won four straight games since the Centre Court roof was pulled across.

Svetlana Kuznetsova is drifting out of her slipstream and out of contention.
