A slice backhand from Cilic flicks the tape and Federer cannot prise it off the floor.

    30-30.

Federer stretched out of shape. Match point Cilic.

    Return long!

To deuce. And still deep in the woods for Federer.

It is tough when you are Roger Federer and playing against Marin Cilic, who is playing amazing.

There hasn't been much that Federer could be doing. At this level little things can make a big difference.

There are more errors being made on the groundstrokes. The quality of the match has dipped in the last 15 minutes.

    *Federer 6-7 (4-7) 4-6 6-3 4-5 Cilic

Marin Cilic puts away a rapier forehand down the line for 40-15.

That will make him feel better. The winners had dried up a touch off that wing.

Roger Federer nips back with a return up to the Croat's toes, but Cilic sees his way though as he presses the net and Federer, under pressure, cuffs long.

The conclusion to this match could be three minutes away. Or three hours.

    Querrey 4-6 5-7 7-5 2-2 Raonic*

Sam Querrey has Milos Raonic scampering around the court, The American goes for the lob...and it works. They go from deuce to advantage Querrey.

But then world number 41 serves a double fault. Back to deuce.

Eventually, he holds and we're even in the fourth set on Court One.

This is definitely moving along at quite a pace. It could be more mentally draining than physically.

Roger Federer has his dancing shoes on.

A lovely soft-shoe shuffle into mid-court before a flamboyant flick of a backhand sends the ball speeding away for a winner and 30-0.

A peppery serve gets up Cilic's nostrils for 40-0.

And the Croat plants into the net to allow him through to love.

Marin Cilic's groundstrokes are no longer besting Federer's.

The Croat is getting a little loose, finding the net more often than winning whitewash.

But that serve is still paying the bills. He has hit 21 aces so far and his first serve percentage is back up to 63% in this fourth set.

    He holds to 30.

Roger Federer purrs through a service hold. But this is no longer a match for his fans to enjoy. This is one to survive. One to watch from the brace position.

Their man is on the highwire and, serving second in this fourth set, one slip would mean curtains.

Roger Federer with a backhand as sweet, silky and smooth as a bar of Swiss chocolate brings up 15-40 and two break points.

With impeccable timing, a small sparrow choses this moment to hop along the court surface.

Cilic halts his service action. It's lucky he did. That little songbird could have been splattered to the four corners of Centre Court had it hung around.

Four absolute brute serves fizz past Roger Federer and whisk away the chance before he can even size it up.

Milos Raonic lets out a huge roar towards the players' box.

Not because he's won anything. It's because he's fended off break point from Sam Querrey.

The Canadian goes on to hold but his American opponent is really up for this now. An epic contest is unfolding.

Dylan Baker: These two matches are following the exact same cadence. Cilic and Raonic falling off at exactly the same point.

Andrew Neill: Wait, my PC screen appears to be broken. I went for a drink and came back and it's saying Raonic was broken. Surely an error?

Marin Cilic is hustled out of two break points at 15-40 up by precision deliveries from Roger Federer service action.

As a symptom of where this match is going, that is not a good sign for the not-so-neutral honorary Swiss in the crowd.
