Horrible dropper from Murray, deuce. Hammer of Thor from Tsonga, tiniest gap down the backhand, he's threaded the needle. Murray broken for a second game on the bounce, the match seemingly his, now the set sailing away.

Jamie Scott: I thought the point of Lendl was that Murray didn't do this self-loathing shouty thing whenever the match was against him?

Tim Barnes: Different coach, same old Murray.

Zeb Bowyer: Starting to resemble all the hallmarks of the Rumble in the Jungle; turning into one of the classic Centre Court matches.

This must hurt mentally, Andy has to regroup, focus and play point by point because he could easily get broken again after such a disappointing game.

Tsonga long, 15-30. Devastating forehand deep into the backhand corner, the only thing that could rescue that is a St Bernard. Murray screaming, clutching the air with clawing fingers. Hold on, Jo-Wilfried's muffed a volley, we're at deuce. Lovely approach, Tsonga can't control it, break point. Murray running the point, is this it - blimey, what a double-handed backhand down the line. Whatever you can do, says Murray, dinking a backhand cross-court that floats like a butterfly and stings like a hornet. Murray running into a net-cord - surely - nets it! JWT to the net, Murray passes him like a Ferrari going by a bus-stop. Break point again, deep approach, can't control the volley. Tsonga ace, he's wriggled off the hook...

Alice Stainer: The fluctuations of a tennis match never cease to amaze me. Tsonga now on fire and beating Murray at own return game.

Richard Browne: Another demonstration as to why Murray will always be "very good" and not one of the greats.

Danny Stubbs: Andy Murray is painful to watch.

Tsonga hits that forehand as hard as anyone and that is what has kept him in the match.

Boy did he need that there.

Murray flicks long, and now wide off a furious forehand return - 0-30. Not now, not now. Murray with the pass, looks long, called good, challenged, long indeed. Three break-back points. It's never easy, never easy. Tsonga backhand floats wide, one gone. Acer! Two gone. Great second serve, diving away, Tsonga into the net. Breathe. Tsonga chasing, backhand slice from the boondocks, in to the net for the volleyed winner, a fourth break point. Stunning forehand hitting from the Frenchman, he's wrestled it back. Oi-yoi-yoi.

No, I am Davis Cup captain.

My job is to oversee all Australian players.

I am there to fully support Nick and he knows that.

He has to find the right coach and put full trust in that person.

Now then. Tsonga tightens - stiff forehand into the net, 0-30 on his serve. Tempting old lob, Tsonga can get to it but only to clout long. Three break points. First serve long. Murray on the angle, Tsonga serve-volleying off his second serve, Murray nets. Widespread anguish. Tsonga backhand - that's long, it's long...

Even if he loses this set, I think Murray will win the fifth set. But it will take the sting out of him - long matches can tire you out. It's a mental thing as well.

Murray cruising at 40-0, only to hit the worst drop-shot of the tournament so far, followed by a forehand as ugly as a bad man's sin. Big serve down the middle, called long, looked good to be, Murray challenges, we're both right.
