Edmund, however, earns yet another break point.
Can he convert? No it's saved as the Brit finds the net.
He has another chance as this time Lajovic finds the netting. He's on top of the rally but someone calls 'Out' when Edmund's forehand landed on the line.
The Brit complains to the umpire, but Lajovic wins the point. The public address system tells off the crowd.
The Serb plays his 'Get Out of Jail' card and holds.

The acceleration and racquet head speed on the Edmund forehand is exceptional.

Lajovic gets the bit of luck that he's been screaming for as a return flirts with the cord before struggling over.
Then one of the best rallies of the match sees Edmund move from defence to attack, finishing with a lightning crosscourt forehand.
However, the Serb fights back. He's probably got more shots in his locker than his opponent, and sends over a delightful sliced drop-shot which dies on Edmund's side.
Edmund out-deuces his opponents with two good serves.

Edmund then moves up a gear. One superb forehand down the line is followed by a heavy second serve.
He holds with another good serve down the T.
He whispers "stop me". OK, maybe he didn't.

Kyle just needs to keep this up. It is an amazing start from him.
It looks like the GB team have really done their homework well.
Right from the beginning Edmund was right up on the baseline, not giving Lajovic an opportunity.

Edmund is taking apart a good player and a match we need him to win.

Edmund uses his power-up button to send a forehand winner past Lajovic.
He then moves to 40-15 with an ace and follows that up with another ace to take the game and first set.
He-Man said "I have the power", so has Edmund.
