    Murray 5-5 Marchenko*

Marchenko puts Murray away with a series of neat forehands before following in to capitalise on a defensive Murray shot with a volley close to the net.

And he takes the game to make it 5-5. Murray was clutching his ankle slightly uncomfortably after that point too.

    *Murray 5-4 Marchenko

It's a slice exchange as both players test out their opponent, but then Marchenko unleashes a huge forehand down the line that Murray can only flick a racquet at.

Frustrating from the world number 93 though, he follows up that glorious bit of tennis with a simple forehand straight into the net.

    *Murray 5-4 Marchenko

Murray takes this game to Marchenko, a classy double-handed backhand down the line leaves the Ukrainian rooted to the floor.

He then goes long with a forehand and challenges, but the line judges were correct. 15-15.

    *Murray 5-4 Marchenko

No messing around from Andy Murray on that break point. A serve and powerful forehand to makes it deuce, but again the Ukrainian gets a chance to break. His own big forehand catching the line and leaving Murray no chance.

And look at that, another big point from Marchenko and he's broken. "Shocking", shouts a frustrated Murray as he sits down for a drink.

    Murray 5-3 Marchenko*

Marchenko isn't going down without a fight. He pulls another point back to prolong this set.

It's a big serve from Murray though to make it 30-30, but Marchenko shows a deft touch to lift a half volley just over the net and earn himself a break point.

    Murray 5-3 Marchenko*

So it's Murray serving for the set, but he calls his first shot "shockingly bad". He's happier with the second point though, as one of the longest rallies we've had sees a whipped Murray forehand send Marchenko wide and the world number 93 can only pat it back into the net.

    Murray 5-3 Marchenko*

Marchenko looks solid when he comes into the net, and he puts away a powerful smash before sending down an ace that hits something metal at the back of the court to produce a satisfying 'ding'. Game to the Ukrainian.

    *Murray 5-2 Marchenko

Whoosh, that's a big serve from Marchenko to level up the game but he can't out-rally Murray on the next point. The Scot opts for a slice on the serve, but he sends that into the net. 30-30.

    *Murray 5-2 Marchenko

Marchenko has the new balls as he looks to save this set, but it's superb play from Murray to make it 0-15 as he forces his opponent into a low serve and then dispatches him with a backhand.

    *Murray 5-2 Marchenko

That's another big serve from Murray down the middle of the court that Marchenko can't return, and he follows up with an almost exact replica on the next point.

The Ukrainian goes to Hawk-Eye to try and salvage something from this game as the first ball he can get his racquet on goes wide - but the game is Murray's.

    Murray 4-2 Marchenko*

Well, after double faulting three times in his opening few serves, Murray appears to have his eye in.

A huge first serve practically sends his opponent out of the picture, but Marchenko brings it back to 15-15 with a superb half volley that appeared to have passed him. Cracking shot.

    Murray 4-2 Marchenko*

First Hawk-Eye call of the games goes against Andy Murray. He thinks a high volley from Marchenko is long, but it's caught the line.

The pair trade points, but a Murray forehand that's too long means Marchenko holds serve for the first time in this match.

    *Murray 4-1 Marchenko

Marchenko, cap placed backwards, sends Murray wide with his first serve and then puts a backhand the same way as Murray scuttles back across court.

But the Scot engages him in a rally in the next point and when that's happened it's tend to be Marchenko who makes the mistake - 15-15.

Another big serve that Marchenko can't control and it's four games in a row for the Scot, who after being broken in the first appears to be cruising towards this first set.

    Murray 3-1 Marchenko*

Marchenko is powerful and dangerous on his forehand, but has a few too many mistakes in him.

Murray, meanwhile, slices one into the net and is audibly frustrated. But he follows up with two big points to make it 40-15.

    *Murray 2-1 Marchenko

And again. Another double fault from Marchenko. He just can't clear the net with his serve to make it three each for double faults and we've not yet played four games.

Murray now has another three break points, he pushes Marchenko deep and the Ukranian's forehand goes long.

    *Murray 2-1 Marchenko

Marchenko is blowing on his hands as if to cool them down - it's that hot - but it seems to have done the trick as he follows up a big first serve with a powerful forehand.

But that's another double fault - I think we've seen five so far? All square.

    *Murray 2-1 Marchenko

Well a few more of those from Murray wouldn't go amiss, the first ace of the match as the Scot hammers one down the inside and beyond Marchenko's reach.

He follows up with an equally impressive serve to go ahead for the first time after 12 minutes.
