    *Evans 7-6 (7-4) 2-6 3-5 Tsonga

Not a lot for Evans to get his teeth into here.

Two serves are just too big and meaty for the Briton to fling back into play, while a tight backhand has a weary look from Evans.

And just to rub salt into the wound, a Tsonga backhand clips the net and drops perfectly for the hold.

    Evans 7-6 (7-4) 2-6 3-4 Tsonga*

Evans, while struggling to make any impact on he Tsonga serve, is finding rhythm on his own and holds again.

Now - time to have another crack at the Frenchman's game.

    *Evans 7-6 (7-4) 2-6 2-4 Tsonga

The evening shadow has now cast fully across the Hisense, but the crowd seem like they're leaning in the direction of Tsonga.

He doesn't need the help though as the Frenchman's forehand finds a bit of extra whizz-bang to put Evans on the back foot.

Dennis: Wow Mischa Zverev! The father should be proud for having two amazing tennis talents. Incredible!

Ian: Who says Murray doesn't deserve to be a champion? World number one isn't by chance. Bad day at office, but he will bounce back.

Jamie: Wasn't like Murray played badly, just Zverev played the match of his life. Happens.

All eyes on how much puff Evans has now - he's had to chuck plenty of coal on the engine already today.

But there's no sign of him having his belly tickled as he holds to 15.

Much needed, and gladly taken by Evans. A relatively simple hold to get on the third-set board.

Most world number 51s would do the honourable thing and just give in right now.

    Evans - not so much.

He's looking for that break back immediately and works his way to deuce, but Tsonga arm wrestles it away.

Khalid: Hoping for an iconic Federer v Nadal final. A good old rivalry restarted.

Chintan: Murray doesn't deserve to be a champion. He cannot grab the opportunity of winning slams.

    Evans 7-6 (7-4) 2-6 0-1 Tsonga*

"Come on!" announced in a beautiful Brummie lilt echoes around the Hisense as Evans pulls back to 30-30 on serve.

Evans is just a workhorse at the moment, grinding his way back in from 30-40, but Tsonga's punch is just way too hefty as he lands a forehand winner for the break.

More Brummie tones now - but with plenty of swearing. It's picked up clearly on the microphones.

    Zverev 7-5 5-7 6-2 6-4 Murray

BBC tennis correspondent on Radio 5 live sports extra

Zverev has broken down Murray in a way by asking him to play so many passing shots. Usually a strength of Murray but when you do it so much, it takes its toll.

Zverev was really courageous in that last game serving it out to win.

What a doolally Australian Open this is.

The two top seeds out the men's draw - so who fancies it boys?

Stan Wawrinka? Milos Ranic? It's yours for the taking.

I don't think word of Murray's exit has spread to the Hisense Arena, as we haven't heard one of those burgeoning rumbles of surprise.

    Zverev 7-5 5-7 6-2 6-4 Murray

That wasn't on the cards this morning.

Sensational stuff from Zverev, who was quick on his feet and the battles at the net were engrossing. Murray was error prone, too many double faults costing him as Zverev targeted that second serve.

And the winner of sentences you thought you wouldn't read in 2017: Dan Evans is the last Briton standing in the men's draw of the Australian Open.

You haven't missed much from the Hisense Arena, as Tsonga converts his double break in the second set to level it up at 1-1.

Germany's Mischa Zverev after his 7-5 5-7 6-2 6-4 victory over Andy Murray: "There were three points where I don't know how I did it. But I made it.

"It was kind of easy to stay aggressive but it was tough to stay calm. I was expecting to maybe double fault in the last but somehow I made it.

"My mum always smiles when I miss those balls (overheads) and she smiled at me again!

"My brother inspires me all the time because he plays such great tennis and he challenges me to do better in myself. He definitely inspired me."

He's done it! Upset officially complete. Andy Murray, the world number one, is out of the Australian Open.

An utterly engrossing match and Zverev, the man of the hour, is sat teary-eyed on the bench. Murray waves and departs the Rod Laver Arena. What. A. Match.
