  1. Zverev breaks Murraypublished at 06:27 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2017

    Murray 5-7 7-5 2-5 Zverev*

Murray makes a noise of pure disgust as a low backhand goes sailing out, and Zverev targets his second serve again.

Two break points to the German, but Murray saves one with a classic forehand. There's too much power from Zverev, Murray shimmying his body rather than his racquet to the ball, and Zverev breaks.

Biodin: The world should be wary of these Zverev brothers....so tough to play against!

Rosh: I haven't been this nervous in a 4th round Grand Slam tie since Jeremy Bates played Guy Forget in 94. C'mon Andy!

One to remember there for anyone going on Mastermind with the specialist subject of "Britons in fourth-rounds of Grand Slams".

    *Murray 5-7 7-5 2-4 Zverev

Such good tennis. Murray's frustration comes into play with a backhand that fires past Zverev, before Zverev makes it equal with a fiery serve.

Another lob, a flick of the wrist, gives Murray break point but Zverev fires back with two pacey, skiddy serves. Murray takes it back to deuce with a smash backhand, keeping the German on his toes.

"Out" comes the cry, but Zverev challenges it. And that is in by the finest of margins! Less than a centimeter, and Murray makes his disbelief known by pointing at it with his racquet. Zverev takes a breath, serves, and holds.

    *Evans 3-4 Tsonga

Evans has now faced four point break points in this first set, but somehow has come through unscathed again.

He even overcame the drop of the ball after an unfortunate net-cord, which had put the Briton 30-40 down.

We're still on serve - Tsonga is having it much easier with ball in hand as he races to a love hold.

  6. Zverev break Murraypublished at 06:16 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2017

    Murray 5-7 7-5 2-3 Zverev*

Murray has Zverev on the run but there's too much power on it again and the ball bounces out. A sigh and a shake of the head, before Zverev meets a forehand low and smashes it past with two hands.

A serve surprises Zverev but he somehow manages to return it, foxing Murray. 0-40 to Zverev, and a natty little volley at the net breaks Murray's serve! Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

    Evans 2-2 Tsonga*

Dan's doing really well. Tsonga's really berating himself through the course of that game. He's upset about something. When Tsonga puts two hands on the backhand and forces Evans to slice he goes on to dominate the point.

    Evans 2-2 Tsonga*

To quote Christopher Martin. "Nobody said it was easy."

Evans rescues two break points - including a second-serve ace.

He then snaffles advantage with a pick-up drop shot that is worthy of a top-10 seed, not the man 51st in the world, before holding.

Tsonga, despite, the scoreline, is getting agitated and moody. He's not started in free-flowing fashion.

    *Murray 5-7 7-5 2-2 Zverev

It's not going Zverev's way up at the net now. Murray's meeting his backhands and twice he hits long.

A smash from the German has Murray yelling no like a cartoon character dropping off a cliff, before Zverev pulls it back to 40-30 with a forehand smash.

Murray goes long, too long, and Zverev is out of trouble. He holds.

  10. 'Murray struggling with the lob'published at 06:08 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2017

John-Laffnie de Jager, Heather Watson’s coach, on 5 live sports extra: “One shot Andy is struggling with today is the lob, keeps hitting them short. It’s a shot he usually excels at.”

    Murray 5-7 7-5 2-1 Zverev*

A baby is quickly ushered out of the Rod Laver Arena as it starts crying. Murray looks like he might match the kid for noise as his second serve goes awry, the Brit overhitting again.

Zverev sprawls, hardly meeting the serve, and Murray's feet are off the ground as he smacks a forehand across him. An ace brings it to 30-30.

Down the line again from Zverev, and out of bounds, before his forehand also goes long. Game to Murray.

    *Murray 5-7 7-5 1-1 Zverev

Bam. That's how to come back emphatically, a stonking forehand smash followed up by an ace from Zverev.

Murray comes off best at the net again, Zverev skewing his backhand, but Murray then hits the net to give him the game. A yell of irritatation from the Briton.

    Murray 5-7 7-5 1-0 Zverev*

A 31-shot rally, the longest of the match, goes Murray's way. Zverev is the one doing the running about and his forehand eventually finds the net.

Lovely from the world number one, spotting the drop shot and charging in, flicking his backhand up and over. His next return is loose though, taking it to 40-15.

Another double fault from Murray irks him, but he hammers a forehand short to hold his serve.

    Evans 1-1 Tsonga*

Evans has packed a sack load of that Solihull grit with him for his Aussie trip - and he might need every grain of it today.

The Briton has to fend off going to deuce twice - not helped by a double fault - but has his first game in the last 16 of a Grand Slam in the bag.

    *Evans 0-1 Tsonga

Tsonga holds, but Evans is plucky early doors and shows he'snot here to bow down by charging into the net for a volley winner.

A 40-15 hold for the Frenchman, but positive signs for the Briton.

    *Murray 5-7 7-5 Zverev

Murray is sat shouting "energy" to himself, which might look a bit odd, but his concentration drifted in the second set. He came back in fine form, tidying it up with relative ease, but it's not been straightforward.

The Brit is sat with ice packs on every surface, one sweaty pair of shoes lingering nearby.

    *Murray 5-7 7-5 Zverev

Brilliant tennis. Zverev lobs and looks to have beaten Murray. Murray darts back, guesses perfectly where his opponent will be and backhands past him.

Murray races to 0-40, goes down the line and there's a roar from the Brit, the crowd joining him, as it beats the German's dive. One set each.
