Some words of encouragement for Dan Evans, some anti-inflammatory tablets for Vasek Pospisil. Will that troublesome knee end up having an influence on this match?

That set turned very quickly and I think it shows on this court how quickly it can turn on a few points. If Evans had converted one of those points for a double break you can be almost certain there’s no way back, but what a tie-break Pospisil played. The crowd gives him a lot of energy, he obviously loves representing his country. I actually would still have Evans as favourite, he just needs to up his game slightly, but it’s game on now.
Pospisil 7-6 (7-3) Evans
Just the one needed for Vasek Pospisil. A baseline backhand leaves Evans scrabbling, the Briton only able to slap into the net.
Pospisil leaps into the air, roaring at his red-and-white clad supporters. Advantage Canada.
Pospisil 6-6 (6-3) Evans*
Great athleticism from Pospisil turns defence into attack. Three set points...
Pospisil 6-6 (5-3) Evans*
A beauty of a second serve kicks up off the lines and leaves Evans floundering. Pospisil pounds forward, Evans into the net.
*Pospisil 6-6 (4-3) Evans
Evans does exactly that! A wicked forehand leaves Pospisil wafting.
Pospisil 6-6 (4-2) Evans*
A loose backhand from Evans lands in the tramlines. Leon Smith stands with hands on hips. MUST hold this next serve...
Pospisil 6-6 (3-2) Evans*
Big response from a big man. Pospisil batters down a serve out wide. Still on serve...
*Pospisil 6-6 (2-2) Evans
How's he has he reached this?! Evans sprints across court to reach a Pospisil return, whipping it down the line to safety!
*Pospisil 6-6 (2-1) Evans
Wow. A humdinger of a return from Pospisil leaves Evans beaten. Mini-break to Canada...
Pospisil 6-6 (1-1) Evans*
Softer than silk. Evo cushions a net volley to hold his first serve.
Pospisil 6-6 (1-0) Evans*
Pospisil to serve first...thumping ace. Job done.
Pospisil 6-6 Evans
Come on then Dan, can you see this one through? Pospisil''s arms might be as long as golf ball retrievers, but he can't rescue a deep Evans forehand into the corner for 30-0. That becomes 40-0 with an ace, game wrapped up shortly after. Tie-break time!
Pospisil 6-5 Evans*
I can't see Evans breaking this Pospisil serve at the moment. Sorry. Another ace from the Canadian sets the tone, Evans having little response as Pospisil goes on to hold to love with a cushioned volley. Fourteen points on the bounce for Pospisil on serve.
*Pospisil 5-5 Evans
Pressure? Pah. Evans turns up the volume, drowning Pospisil out with a big service game. A hold to love. On we go...

Pospisil is playing some very good tennis. Dan Evans has to hang in there and blunt the weapons.
Pospisil 5-4 Evans*
Any chance of Evans nabbing a break here? Nope. Pospisil, who is no mug remember, shows why he was once ranked as a top 30 player. He powers down three aces, backed up by that ferocious forehand, to cruise to another hold. Evo serving to stay in this first set...
*Pospisil 4-4 Evans
Dan Evans might need a pair of wellies here. He's in a sticky spot. Pospisil's forehand is leaving Evans ducking for cover at 30-30, although his chip and charge does not come off in the next point.
The Canadian forces deuce with another ripper of a forehand down Evans' forehand side. But someone throws Evans a spade as he digs himself out of that troublesome spot. Important hold.

Dan needs to regroup - no drastic change but switch the balance a little bit to being more aggressive.
