Vikki: Could be the final, they're playing so powerfully and so well. Go Konta!

Jonty: Brave, brave serving from Konta to dig herself out from 0-30 down, WOW!

Chris: Anyone know where I can get a fingernail transplant after this Konta / Vekic match?

The crowd got excited for a minute, there, as Konta moved 0-30 up, but she's been pegged back by three big Vekic serves.

The Croat makes a the spectators groan when she holds. They're very much behind Konta now.

    Bedene 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-3 Dzumhur

Aljaz Bedene, speaking on BBC Two after beating Damir Dzumhur: "I was playing quite solid tennis, he gave me a few easy games which helped, so I'm happy.

"I played my first round match on court three too and this crowd is amazing - without them I couldn't have won that first match and this one.

"I played [third round opponent] Gilles Muller a few weeks ago - he loves grass and is a left-hander with a big serve so he's never easy to face but I'll fight and see what happens."

    Konta 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 8-7 Vekic*

This is an endurance test for not just the players, but for everyone: the overheating spectators, the live texters who have run out of snacks and the people who are watching on a second screen at work (we see you).

Just when Vekic starts to make some gains on Konta's serve, the Briton hits back with some big hits to overpower her opponent.

At 40-30, Vekic makes a forehand error and Konta holds. Again.

Oh no. No, no. Jo Konta's taken a tumble.

Remember, she stacked it at Eastbourne and had to pull out with a back injury. This doesn't look as bad, luckily. We really don't need another injury curse on Centre Court.

The Briton dusts herself down and keeps within touching distance of her opponent at 30-30.

But a shanked awful forehand lands wide and Vekic holds with a forehand winner.

    Konta 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 7-6 Vekic*

A brilliant, energetic exchange is won by Vekic, and she edges ahead of her opponent to 0-30.

Konta hits back to level, but can only find then net on her next go. Break point to the world number 58.

Can Vekic take it? Nope, not this time. A looping forehand goes long.

Konta earns herself a fist pump as she takes the advantage and goes on to hold. She's survived again.

    *Konta 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-6 Vekic

Neither player looks like tiring at the moment, which is quite remarkable in this heat.

Donna Vekic takes a 40-0 lead and, like Konta did in the last game, she serves it out with an ace.

    We go on...

    Bedene 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-3 Dzumhur

Dzumhur all but beaten as he leaks three easy points to give Bedene three match points.

Ah, that sums up the Bosnian's day as he smashes a relatively simple chance into the net, giving Bedene a four-set victory.

The Briton will be disappointed to have dropped a set against an opponent he was clearly a level above throughout but delighted not to let it drift to five sets.

He's into the third round of Wimbledon for the first time in his career and will face 16th seed Gilles Muller.

John Smith: Safe to say that this one has been an epic for the ages! Come on Jo!

    Bedene 6-3 3-6 6-3 5-3 Dzumhur*

Solid stuff from Bedene, not offering Dzumhur much to go at on his serve.

The Bosnian misses a straightforward smash and the Briton holds again.

He's just a game away from the third round as Dzumhur serves to stay in the match.

    Konta 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-5 Vekic*

Throw down! Ace number 10 for Johanna Konta as she moves 40-15 up.

Vekic responds with two forehand winners for deuce. This is the first time the pair have been neck and neck in this set.

Konta holds her nerve and pulls out two big serves to take the game.

    Konta 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 5-4 Vekic*

The flying ants are back with a vengeance, the horrible little blighters. Donna Vekic cakes herself in bug spray in between games to try and fend them off.

Jo Konta moves into a 30-0 lead and ploughs a lovely backhand winner on to the grass for 40-0.

The Briton completely mishits a forehand as Vekic gets off the mark, but Konta sees it out.

I hope Andy Murray's brought some Sudoku to keep him occupied backstage. He could be waiting a while to get on court.

"Forty lurrrrrrrve," says silky smooth umpire Kader Nouni as Donna Vekic breezes ahead.

Konta nabs a point when the world number 58 skids the ball into the net.

But Vekic sees it out when Konta messes up an overhead smash after an intense rally.
