    Bedene 6-3 3-6 1-2 Dzumhur*

That Dzumhur backhand still causing Bedene no end of issues, the pick of the bunch a winner down the line that sets up a break point.

And the Bosnian takes it. Bedene looks lost. He needs to arrest this slide sharpish.

    *Konta 7-6 (7-4) 3-5 Vekic

Vekic replies in kind by holding to love.

Jo Konta's going to be serving to stay in the second set, as she did in the first.

    This is an excellent contest.

    *Konta 7-6 (7-4) 2-4 Vekic

Konta digs her claws into Vekic's serve, taking a 0-30 lead, and soon she has two break back points.

The Croat saves one with an ace, and another as Konta nets. Deuce!

Vekic sees it out for an important hold of serve.

Those pesky ants are still distracting the punters on court three - leading one man to my left to exclaim the above at the last changeover. Let's hope they don't attack the umpire in similar fashion.

    Konta 7-6 (7-4) 2-3 Vekic*

There's a young woman sat behind Vekic's chair who is desperately trying to keep cool by flicking her hair forward and fanning her neck with her ticket.

Across the way, a man is wearing two hats.

Gotta love British people in hot weather.

  9. Game and second set - Dzumhurpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Bedene 6-3 3-6 Dzumhur

Bedene does well to hold under pressure and force Dzumhur to serve for the set.

But the Bosnian does exactly that with ease and that second set has rather drifted away from the Briton.

Dzumhur's got a cracking backhand on him, mind, and used it to good effect in that set.

Bedene needs to start turning the screw with his serve again.

  10. Vekic breaks againpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Konta 7-6 (7-4) 2-3 Vekic*

Vekic looks very pleased with herself after landing a forehand winner down the line to open up a 15-30 lead.

Konta, meanwhile, looks frustrated when she fails to clear the net with a drop shot. Two break points to Vekic.

She needs only one chance to take the game.

  11. Konta breaks backpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    *Konta 7-6 (7-4) 2-2 Vekic

Dilly ding, dilly dong - three break points to Johanna Konta!

The Briton loses one when she piles a forehand wide. Vekic's big serve does the job to make it 30-40, but Konta levels the second set with a stunning forehand.

  12. Nishikori breaks backpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    *Nishikori 6-4 4-5 Stakhovsky

An error-strewn second set from Kei Nishikori and Sergiy Stakhovsky took advantage, going up a break.

The Ukrainian almost claimed a second break and the second set but the ninth seed scrambled to save set point.

Still, Stakhovsky will serve for the set but makes an absolute hash of it - a tame volley into the net giving Nishikori a break point that he duly takes.

The Japanese will serve to level.

It's fair to say Grigor Dimitrov has a few female fans - one of them outside Aorangi Park just asked the world number 11 to marry her, as well as for an autograph. She got his signature, but not the ring.

But even that sort of attention is eclipsed when Rafa Nadal strolls into view. He has been practicing ahead of his match with Donald Young, which is third on Centre Court today, and his eagle-eyed followers spot him a mile off.

As he gets nearer the crowd go into a Fed Fan-style frenzy and "Rafa... I love you" is all one admirer can manage. Not sure if she got an autograph or a selfie too.

  15. Postpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Konta 7-6 (7-4) 1-2 Vekic*

Konta's not bothered by those pesky flying ants.

She's 40-0 up and holds to love when Vekic nets.

  16. Attack of the insects!published at 14:31 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

A swarm of flying ants has descended on court three and is causing chaos (of sorts) in the crowd - I think they are after my jam sandwiches.

The players don't seem bothered but have ants ever stopped play at Wimbledon before?

  17. Postpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    *Konta 7-6 (7-4) 0-2 Vekic

A quality return from Jo Konta gives the sixth seed a 15-30 lead.

Vekic pulls level and Konta's snap shot is hindered by a clip of the net to make it 40-30.

But the Croat sends a forehand long and we got to deuce.

A delicate drop shot earns her the advantage and the world number 58 goes on to hold.

    Annabel Croft
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 live

So often you see a tie-break and one player's spirits are dampened, but that has not happened at all here with Donna Vekic and that gives the impression she is going to go the distance.

  19. Dzumhur breakspublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Bedene 6-3 1-3 Dzumhur*

You wouldn't like Damir Dzumhur when he's angry, apparently.

After getting fired up by what he perceived as a sarcastic applause by the Bedene camp, the Bosnian has upped his game.

He reels off another break against the Briton and now has the initiative in this set.

  20. Vekic breakspublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Konta 7-6 (7-4) 0-1 Vekic*

Konta makes a dash for the net to try and get on the end of a Vekic volley but she just fails to reach it.

A double fault makes it 0-30 and Vekic earns three break points as Konta goes wide.

An ace saves one but Konta overcooks a forehand and Vekic takes the first game of the second set.
