He has been struggling for the last couple of games and now a trainer is out to help Fabio Fognini as he gets his right ankle looked at.

Murray did what he needed to in his last service game before the introduction of the physio.

    *Murray 6-2 4-6 3-1 Fognini

One break point saved as Fognini manages to gallop / limp forward and win it with a drop shot, but the Italian still has one break point to save.

His first serve goes into the net and a shot after Murray's fine return is then ballooned over the baseline.

Murray breaks serve to lead 3-1 in the third set.

Fognini's movement certainly does seem a bit limited at the moment. He is quite flat-footed as he sends a forehand into the base of the net.

He then goes long with a forehand, which is out, and well out, as Hawk-Eye confirms. A chance here for Murray to take advantage. 0-30.

A much-needed solid service game from Murray gives him a 2-1 lead, but Fognini may well be struggling as he appears to be hobbling back to his chair.

An ankle problem? Maybe. One to keep an eye on.

A massive scream like the one Murray just let out will get under the skin of Fognini and make him worried about how fired up Murray is.

Fognini leading 40-0, produces a double fault, his fourth of the match, and it is then followed by another wild swipe of the racquet with the ball flying wide.

But it does not matter as his serve, which has been one of his strengths, comes to his rescue soon after for 1-1 in the third set and 1-1 in sets.

    Murray 6-2 4-6 1-0 Fognini*

Fognini must frustrate his coaches so much. Every now and then he produces shots worthy of a player who should be higher in the rankings, this time a sweeping forehand.

But Murray is getting pumped up himself now. He wins two points in a row, screaming loudly after each of them.

He is trying to get himself fired up, trying to get the crowd involved in the action and trying to regain his first-set dominance. A hold at the start of set three for Murray.

    *Murray 6-2 4-6 Fognini

A bit of luck for Fognini, 30-0 up and what should be a routine return for Murray dies on the grass and does not bounce as he would have expected. It ends with a rather embarrassing air shot for the world number one, the kind seen up and down tennis clubs everywhere.

In the first set it looked like this would be easy for Murray, but Fognini has proved us wrong by taking the second set.

    Game on.
