    Konta 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 4-3 Garcia*

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

I can't see anymore signs of Caroline Garcia's old man Louis Paul coaching from the box. Only slow nodding and firm hand clapping, plus the occasional look over to the press seats. Maybe Monsieur Garcia knows we've clocked him...

    Konta 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 4-3 Garcia*

    Game, Konta.

Another whizz through a service game, big serves coming down from the Brit, and Garcia twice spears her returns long to either side of her opponent.

    Murray 5-4 Paire

Paire threw his racket at that Murray ace, but the ball was well past him. Like a keeper who makes a token dive when a penalty is already in the net.

    Murray 5-4 Paire

That's some record. You used to get an MBE for making the third round.

    Murray stat

Murray's serve, hold here and he's favourite for the set? Consistency is what sets the big four apart from the rest. We saw Ernests Gulbis look like a world-beater against Novaj Djokovic the other day, but only for four games or so.

'STOP!' shouts the umpire as Murray challenges a point, he's wrong. 40-15. Then he wins it with a crunching ace which leaves Paire in a heap.

    *Konta 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 3-3 Garcia

A little bit up and down from Garcia, although a noise from the crowd might have distracted her as she double faults.

It's muscle v muscle at the minute, Konta smacking returns back on the second serve, but Garcia ensures a hold with an ace down the T and a brief rally of "Allez! around Court One.

  10. BACK ON SERVEpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 10 July 2017

    Murray 4-4 Paire

Boxers in the Royal Box, Carl Froch silvering nicely like a birch-clad cabin. Murray is down on points at the moment but can always land a knockout blow, he's been down the stretch so many times.

What will British tennis fans do when he's gone? There may be a whole generation of fans out there who don't remember what it's like to have all the men out by the first Wednesday.

Enjoy him while he's here. Paire looks good on his own serve, always a moving target, causing Murray problems at the net and at the baseline. A poor drop shot though takes us to deuce, can Murray get it back on serve?

Break point! Paire errs on his forehand. But then finds a dream of one, whipped barely over the net and driving Murray wide.

What was that?! Paire miscues a volley hilariously badly to gift Murray a break point, and he takes it this time.

    Konta 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 3-2 Garcia*

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

It's getting tense on Court One.

A steward has just blasted a bloke for chatting on his mobile phone during play...

On the grass, both players are starting to look more relaxed on serve. Shades of Konta's epic against Donna Vekic last week. That went to 10-8 in the decider...

    Konta 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 3-2 Garcia*

Konta muscles down her serves, racing to 40-0, but a corker of a return down the line from Garcia takes us to 40-30.

Konta keeps herself in front though with another big serve out wide, leading to a yell of "come on!" from the Brit.

    *Konta 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 2-2 Garcia

This is basically turning into the battle of first serves. Who will blink first?

Garcia whirls her way through her service game, going big with the serve, and three times Konta's returns fly wide.

The Brit gets on the board as a Garcia forehand goes big, but the French player gets up to the net and taps a backhand over to ensure a hold.

    Murray 3-4 Paire

Murray needs to hold his serve this time if he's going to have a chance of saving the first set. Already broken twice.

Lengthy rally, really crisp striking from both players until a punchy forehand gives the world number one the point. He backs it up with an approach shot down the middle which Paire smashes past him with a side order of disdain.

The younger, bigger man is not overawed by the task of facing Murray on Centre Court. Not yet, anyway.

That may change as the afternoon rolls on. Cracking return off the Murray second serve though! Flies into the corner. Deuce.

    Murray holds though. Uncomfortably.

Konta has to hit the ball early, maintain her depth and get that first strike in the point, that first big point.

    Konta 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 2-1 Garcia*

    That's fantastic serving from Konta.

She gives the first serve plenty of welly, timing an ace, and despite a brief blip as a forehand goes long, Garcia can only slice a backhand wide as Konta holds.

Konta barely looks ruffled as she wanders back to her seat.

    Murray 2-4 Paire

Team Murray are in need of a little bit of a boost as their man pumps rather weakly into the net, and then is nowhere as Benoit Paire volleys. Beating Andy Murray is a long old game though. I get the feeling this match could be a lengthy one.

    Comfortable hold for the Frenchman.

    *Konta 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 1-1 Garcia

A short ball from Garcia is gratefully received by Konta, down on one knee and fizzing a backhand beyond her opponent.

Two big serves from Garcia get her back in front, and she tidies her first service game up with an ace.

  20. 'Nobody plays like Paire'published at 14:53 British Summer Time 10 July 2017

    Murray 2-3 Paire

    Boris Becker
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

It's difficult to find the right strategy against Paire. Nobody plays like that. Who would do six drop-shots by now?

Murray has got to watch out.
