A spot of mixed doubles. Don't mind if we do.

Top seeds Martina Hingis and Jamie Murray are in action against the all-British tag-team of Ken Skupski and Jocelyn Rae.

Two-one to Hingis and Murray. Centre Court less than full as SW19 punters set out to hunt and gather refreshments.

Venus moved really well today and was really committing to Konta's weaker forehand.

I think she respects Jo so much that she knew she was going to have to serve well to win.

Konta is a hard worker and she is happy with the support team she has - the ceiling is much higher than it has been before.

Venus has got such an incredible wingspan if she isn't quite as quick as was she sure makes up with her wingspan. What I was impressed with was the forehand down line.

    It looked so natural.

  7. Next year for Konta?published at 16:32 British Summer Time 13 July 2017

    Virginia Wade
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

It was sad Jo couldn't come through on an anniversary year but I think next year she could make it or make it to the final and progress.

Look at Rybarikova and how tense she was, that didn't happen to Jo. She didn't fall apart she was beaten by someone with a lot of experience.

  9. 'Konta improvement is phenomenal'published at 16:30 British Summer Time 13 July 2017

    Tracy Austin
Former Wimbledon mixed doubles champion on BBC TV

One thing to remember is that Jo has never been past the second round at Wimbledon. She played such clutch tennis in particular against Simona Halep. Her improvement rate is phenomenal.

She is young and in tennis terms is very young. There is room for improvement and the ceiling is much higher.

Venus said she missed Serena but when Serena is not here she comes into her own.

I thought Venus has been playing very well. Her has serve improved no end. The serve was immaculate and what Venus also did was take away Jo's ability to push her around by hitting up the middle.

I thought Jo played really well. Every time she had a little bit of an edge Venus came up with better.

It was Venus who was absorbing the pace and hitting even harder.

  14. 'Too much pressure on Konta'published at 16:21 British Summer Time 13 July 2017

    Virginia Wade
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

Venus loves Wimbledon. She adores Wimbledon, and likes being here playing on Centre Court.

What happened in the last few days, it would have been so much fun on an anniversary year for a British player to win, but we loaded Jo up.

All of the pressure has been on her and the others have gone under the radar. No-one had given Venus too much strife.

Jack: All credit to Venus Williams but the real winner today is Jo Konta. You've captured the hearts of a nation. Look after them.

The Gurkha: Did Venus feel any pressure at all? She looked flawless.

Kate Simpson: Very poor from Konta there. Like a moody teenager throwing a strop whilst walking off Court.

Twenty years after making her Wimbledon debut, five-time champion Williams is into her ninth final at the All England Club and her first since 2009.

WIlliams lost in the first round to Magdalena Grzybowska in that first campaign in 1997.

    Better was to come.

  17. 'The crowd were fair to me'published at 16:17 British Summer Time 13 July 2017

    .

Venus Williams speaking to BBC Sport: "I've played a lot of finals here. One more win will be amazing. It won't be a given but I'll give it my all.

"The crowd were very nice to me. The crowd were so fair, I know they love Jo.

"I think Jo handled the pressure.

"No point was easy. I tried to climb on top and get another point."

On Saturday's final against Garbine Muguruza:

"Both Garbine and I play so well on grass. I'll have to ask Serena (Serena Williams defeated Muguruza in the 2015 final) for advice.

"I missed Serena terribly before the match. I wish she was here."

Susannah Pummery: You've still gone down in British tennis history Konta. Well done! Be proud of yourself.

Pierre Kent: Go Venus and take the title!!

  19. Venus 'too solid'published at 16:14 British Summer Time 13 July 2017

    Martina Navratilova
    Nine-time Wimbledon singles champion

The match really did turn on that break point for Konta at 4-4 in the first set with Venus hitting that big second serve.

She never looked back, it almost relaxed her.

She was just too solid. Konta couldn't find the openings she usually does.
