    Kyrgios 6-6 Tsonga*

Nick Kyrgios' brother is wearing a shirt that says "quiet, please" which seems fitting after the antics of the other night.

A superb second serve, quick and firey, wrongfoots Tsonga, before Kyrgios cracks a forehand winner past him.

A backhand is called out from Tsonga, but he's decided he wants to have a look at it - and it's out! Hello, tie-break.

    Nadal 6-1 0-1 Dzumhur*

Rafael Nadal signs for the first set after just 22 minutes against Bosnian Damir Dzumhur.

And then lobs his opponent a break in the first game of the second set by way of compensation.

Only one of the world number one's 75 career titles arrived here - back in 2009.

Argentine Diego Schartzman is the next in line for the Spanish steamroller, presuming this continues in the same vein.

Kyrgios, back curved shoulders hunched, gets drawn into a rally with Tsonga, but he makes a meal of a volley and it's 15-30 against him.

And again! A little push hands Tsonga two break points. The first is saved with a fine slap past his opponent, but a net cord goes against Kyrgios. We're all square.

  19. 'Well up for it'published at 08:26 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2018

    *Kyrgios 3-2 Tsonga

    Naomi Broady
British number three on BBC Radio at Melbourne Park

Nick is obviously well up for it. You don't see him get the fist pump out that early usually. Jo Wilfried Tsonga is not looking too comfortable out there. He has not taken a point off the Kyrgios serve and the Australian has landed with all eight of his first serves so far.
