That was Kyle Edmund’s 12th attempt to beat a top five player. So he has perfect timing, as well as a game good enough to beat the world number three.

There's a lot of love for Rafa on Rod Laver Arena today.
The best banner we've seen so far from a man in the crowd: "Marry me, Rafa! It's legal here now."
So good.
Nadal v Cilic
Rafael Nadal might well feel the fresher out of this pair.
On his way to the quarter-finals he's played three straight setters, with only Diego Schwartzman taking him to a fourth in the last round.
Nadal has spent nine hours and 53 minutes on court compared to 10 hours and 58 minutes for Marin Cilic, who has had two four-setters and six tie-breaks to contend with.
Nadal v Cilic
This is the sevent meeting between top seed Rafael Nadal and world number six Marin Cilic and their second at the Australian Open.
Since Croat Cilic won their first meeting in straight sets back in 2009, Spaniard Nadal has won all their subsequent matches - and has dropped just one set along the way.
World number one - and last year's finalist - Nadal is looking for his sixth appearance in the final four at Melbourne, while Cilic has been there once before.
I know we're still buzzing about Kyle Edmund's win, but there's another quarter-final to get on with - and the winner of this one will meet the British number two in the semi-finals.
Rafael Nadal and Marin Cilic will be out on court very shortly. Here's how they match up...

Bruno Soares
Former Australian Open doubles champion on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra
Kyle looked very much ready for that match on the big stage. I liked the way he came in and played. He was aggressive on the forehand and was looking to win the match.
He went for it and he was brave. He made a few mistakes and over played at times but that's what happens.

Rhys Jones: Kyle Edmund is putting in a phenomenal shift while Andy Murray is injured! Would be incredible if they both went on a run come Wimbledon!
Andy Linfield: @kyle8edmund going Lone Ranger! If anyone young sportsman wants a lesson in self-belief, there it is.
Paul Harper: What an absolute star @kyle8edmund is. Flying the flag for East Yorkshire.

Leon Smith
GB Davis Cup captain on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra
I've given him the biggest man hug ever - I may have injured him for the next match. He was on the bike. All you can say is how proud you are of him and tell him to savour the moment. But also you tell him to keep going.
By the way, if you're just waking up in Britain - you can read how Kyle Edmund's quarter-final victory unfolded on this link.

He's a huge Liverpool fan and a petrol head - he's really into the Formula 1 and made an appearance at the Isle of Man TT (not driving).
He works phenomenally hard. He's a player who will listen to advice and will leave no stone unturned.
Suddenly he's shooting up the rankings. He's going to be about 25 in the world and if he stays there he'll be seeded at the French Open.
Movements like this at a Grand Slam will do wonders for him. I'm sure the sponsorship deals will come rolling in.

I'm still smiling. It's an amazing moment for him. He's worked hard to get to this point and every single match he's gone through has got a different story. He handled this one brilliantly.

Right. After all that excitement, I'm off for a lie down.

Dimitrov 4-6 6-3 3-6 4-6 Edmund
If you're just waking up then yes - Kyle Edmund has indeed made it to the semi-finals of the Australian Open.
There's more here on what is undoubtedly the biggest win of the Brit's career.
Kyle Edmund becomes just the sixth British male Grand Slam semi-finalist in the Open Era, joining Roger Taylor, John Lloyd, Greg Rusedski, Tim Henman and Andy Murray.
Not bad company, that.
