Mark: I love that even Hawkeye was enjoying Kyle's performance enough to tease everyone that Dimtrov's shot in the penultimate game could be in or out. Of course it was out (by about a millimetre of a millimetre within a millimetre)

James Stevenson: I’m just enjoying a British tennis player who goes for his shots and has a big one in his locker. Andy Murray is a legend of British sport. But his style can be a gruelling watch. Kyle Edmund is something different. Exciting, enticing tennis

Metin Daniel Çelik: Kyle Edmund... what a legend!

Michèle: Wow! What lovely news to wake to

  2. Did anyone predict this?published at 07:08 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2018

    Russell Fuller
BBC tennis correspondent at Melbourne Park

I wouldn't have predicted this. He's showed pedigree in Grand Slams, so we could see the building blocks were in place. But he's gone further than we imagined and done it sooner. He's taking it all in his stride. He doesn't want to engage in what it means to him as he's got a tournament to play.

Seven double faults for Grigor Dimitrov in that match - and that game where he had three in a row was undoubtedly a turning point.

  7. 'I know what it feels like to be Andy Murray'published at 06:51 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2018

On becoming the sixth British man to reach a Grand Slam semi-final: "It's great. You don't think of those things when you play but it's something to be proud of. As a kid you're growing up looking at your idols and when you're here progressing in the best tour in the world, it's amazing.

On media pressure: "I know what it feels like to be Andy Murray for the last eight years. It comes with the territory of playing professional tennis. It's the first time I've done well on my own so I'm going to get more attention. You take it in your stride. It's a good problem to have - to win and get that more attention."

The replays of that final moment are hilarious: Tim Henman, in the crowd, is sat shaking his head as they wait for Hawkeye.

Fredrik Rosengren looks super tense and then lets it all out as soon as he sees the ball is out. It's lovely to see.
