    Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 6-4 5-4 Broady*

Liam Broady goes big, and sends his forehand fizzing out of play.

This is a good service game from the Spaniard, forcing his opponent to move around, and he holds with another ace.

Ramos-Vinolas is a game away from giving Spain the lead.

    *Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 6-4 4-4 Broady

Broady wins a tussle at the net in fine fashion, stretching to volley a forehand over.

Now then. Is the Brit limping? He's not getting his weight through his serve and there's a heaviness to his walk.

He's moving well enough to get to the net and disguise a drop shot that Ramos-Vinolas misses, and he holds nicely.

    Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 6-4 4-3 Broady*

Now that's more like it from Ramos-Vinolas, as he sends Broady this way and that as he moves to a 30-0 lead.

Cross court goes Ramos-Vinolas and Broady, eyeing the winner down the line, nets. The Spaniard holds to love.

    *Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 6-4 3-3 Broady

This is very odd from Ramos-Vinolas, who has lost all his rhythm.

Some passive, loose returns allow Broady to speed to 40-0, and even a mishit from the Brit can't stop him holding with ease.

Broady still has to look at that as a good game - there wasn't much he could do with the break points. He's still in this match.

Spain's captain, Sergi Bruguera, is not impressed with his charge after that.

Better from Ramos-Vinolas, as he clonks a backhand past Broady on his way to a hold.

Dearie me, he made that difficult.

The first break point goes begging, before Ramos-Vinolas slaps an ace down the T for 40-30. Excellent time to do it.

There's still one last chance for Broady...

This is a real dip from Ramos-Vinolas. It's a real negative attitude from him.

This has been a little flat from Albert Ramos-Vinolas so far, as another unforced error is drawn from his racquet.

Now then. Another easy backhand ends up nestling in the net, and Liam Broady has three break points gift-wrapped to him...

A fine dink from Broady glides over the top of the net, before another excellent serve and volley ensures the Brit holds to 30.

    *Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 6-4 1-1 Broady

Liam Broady does very well to stay in a rally as he's pushed deep by Ramos-Vinolas, but he can't help whipping a forehand into the net.

He responds with some fine forehands, eventually drawing the error out of his opponent for 40-15, and a stonking winner secures the hold.

Broady played a very good set - I don't think he can play better than that. Unfortunately now, going two sets to love down, you think Ramos-Vinolas will open his shoulders a bit. You can only see this match going one way but you never know.

    *Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 6-4 0-0 Broady

Liam Broady does well to return a delicate backhand from Albert Ramos-Vinolas - and the Spaniard puts an end to any hopes with a bruising cross-court backhand.

Hmm. A few wayward errors creep into his game, though, and we're at deuce.
