Oooh, ahhhh gasps the Centre Court crowd - any three of those shots in that rally between Nadal and Sela could have been winners. The fans like what they are seeing...that should bring the rest of them back from their lunches as there are still a few empty seats here.

Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

We saw excitement from Kyle Edmund, but also relief, that he was playing up to his capabilities. At the end he tightened up, but rose to the occasion and let it out. He needs to do that more and let the crowd know how much it means. It is such a hurdle as it is only his second win at Wimbledon.

    Gulbis 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-3) 3-6 6-4 Clarke

Jay Clarke sticks a hopeful racquet on a mammoth Ernests Gulbis serve, but the teenager's return drifts long. That's out, and that's game, set and match for the Latvian.

A superb effort from 19-year-old wildcard Clarke on his Grand Slam debut, but it's not quite enough.

    *Gulbis 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-3) 3-6 5-4 Clarke

Right then, Jay Clarke, what ya got? The wildcard needs to produce something here to stay in the championships...

A double fault from Ernests Gulbis will be welcomed by the 19-year-old, but his return off the next point only finds the gutter.

Monster ace from Gulbis, his 19th of the match, before another wrist-wrecker.

    Two match points Gulbis.

Kyle Edmund is through to the second round!

Another good return out wide from Kyle Edmund but in truth, Alex Bolt should have made the return. He didn't, and Edmund punches the air as Court One give him a standing ovation.

It's only the second time he's reached the second round at Wimbledon.

    Edmund 6-2 6-3 6-5 Bolt*

A horrid shank off the top of Kyle Edmund's racquet has him looking at the floor in disgust - although the man sat above the scoreboard takes a smart catch.

It's 15-15 before Bolt, trying another serve and volley, flunks the ball into the net.

Oh, a cracking return from Edmund out wide, and it surprises Bolt, who dumps his return into the net! Two match points to Edmund.

    Gulbis 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-3) 3-6 4-4 Clarke*

The Derby teenager is still looking strong heading into the business end of the final set.

Jay Clarke throws a couple of kicking serves Ernests Gulbis' way, but can't quite skip around a deep, wide return quickly enough to coax it back.

Gulbis shows he can also turn on the pace when necessary with a passing winner, but in truth there was too much on that drop shot from Clarke.

Massive ace from the 19-year-old in response - 131mph, his quickest of the day - but miscues an overhead, backhand smash. That's deuce.

  19. Edmund a game away from second roundpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Edmund 6-2 6-3 6-5 Bolt*

That's more like it from Kyle Edmund, as the British number one comes steamrollering forward to meet a Bolt drop shot and flick a winner past him.

A first serve overpowers Bolt before Edmund plonks a forehand into the side of the net, but another body serve puts the Brit up 40-15.

    He holds.

    Gulbis 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-3) 3-6 4-4 Clarke*

Ernests Gulbis rattles to a 40-15 lead, but Jay Clarke puts the burners on to reach a drop shot and dinks it back over the net with the help of the tape to take it away from the Latvian.

Gulbis polishes off his hold with a storming serve.

    Over to you, Jay Clarke...
