    *Gulbis 4-6 6-3 7-6 (7-3) 3-6 3-4 Clarke

Britain's Jay Clarke is dealing with everything thrown at him in this match.

At a crucial point a spare ball falls out of his pocket and the rules state the point must be replayed, despite the Briton going on to win it.

After a brief talk with the umpire, Clarke settles himself down and closes out the service game.

He's two games away from the biggest win of his career.

Kyle Edmund misses a drive down the line for 15-15, but he's handed a glimmer of a reprieve when Alex Bolt helps a forehand long.

The crowd have really appreciated Broady's efforts. She grew in confidence from the start of the match to the end.

Muguruza was tested but she was up to the task. Nice for her to get that first match out of the way as defending champion.

Can she defend her title? Yes. Will she? I don't know - it is a wide open draw.

It's a little scrappy from Kyle Edmund at the minute, who isn't getting the room he wants to launch into his big forehand.

Clever move to the net, though, from Alex Bolt, and we're at deuce.

    Here we go.

Two England fans, who will undoubtedly give themselves plenty of time to prepare for the 19:00 BST match against Colombia...

    Not quite.

The pair in the photo are Karl Rietschel from Hamburg, Germany (right) and Henry Pratt from New Orleans in the United States.

"We're not leaving Wimbledon to watch the match - this will be my only time to watch Novak Djokovic (v Tennys Sandgren at 16:15 BST)," said Henry, who said he wore an England top because his team aren't in the World Cup. Sad times, but at least you get to host one soon.

And what about a German wearing the Three Lions?

"I was born in England, and my other team were knocked out."

The pair said they'd be following the England match on their phones - just don't let out a cheer or a loud groan later guys!

A series of low returns from Alex Bolt confuse Kyle Edmund, who nets twice, before the Australian finally sends a ball long.

That's such good defence from Alex Bolt, stretching himself every which way at the net, and he eventually tickles over a volley winner.

A miss down the line from Bolt grants Kyle Edmund a point, and then Edmund clicks into gear a touch.

Two great forehand winners put him in front at 40-15, and a big first serve ends Bolt's run of three successive games.

Jay Clarke has a real chance in this deciding set. The British wild card is serving well while his opponent Ernests Gulbis is missing by a long way on his forehand, just like he was at the start of this match.

A reminder this is Jay Clarke's Grand Slam singles debut. Gulbis used to be ranked 10th in the world.
