    Hmm. The Brit has gone off the boil, and Alex Bolt times a move to the net nicely to backhand a winner over. Edmund clumps a forehand long, and Bolt has got himself a love hold.

    It was huge from Broady to come from 0-40 down to level it at 4-4.

    It looks like she is feeling more confident. You saw so much doubt in her face at the start of the match.

    Whatever happens she will come out of this match a better tennis player with more belief in herself and maybe that is the nudge she needs to go forward.

    • British number one Johanna Konta beat Russia's Natalia Vikhlyantseva in straight sets to reach the second round.
    • Fifth seed Juan Martin del Potro saw off Peter Gojowczyk, defeating the German 6-3 6-4 6-3.
    • Australia's Ashleigh Barty beat Swiss Stefanie Vogele 7-5 6-3.
    • Kei Nishikori defeated American Christian Harrison in four sets.
    • It took 20th seed Pablo Carreno Busta five sets to shake off Moldova's Radu Albot.

    It's 30-15 to the Brit but Bolt outmuscles him to draw level, and then Edmund steps forward... and misses an easy forehand!

    It's just not consistent enough. Bolt nets on every other point for 40-30, before Edmund drifts a backhand out of bounds.

    A cross-court forehand, full of fury, is slapped wide by Kyle Edmund for 30-15, but then Bolt takes a nasty slip on the baseline! His right foot goes from underneath him and he crashes to the grass.

    He gets gingerly to his feet, to applause from the crowd.

    Bolt can't relax, he's not able to execute.

    Edmund has made him feel like he doesn't belong, which is what you want to do as a seeded player if you're looking to take it to another level, get that extra respect in the locker room.

    Broady is starting to feel more comfortable on Centre Court. It's a pity she didn't have more of those opportunities earlier in her career.

    This is an extraordinary time for women's tennis. There are eight or ten ladies who can take the championship, while in the men's there is only Roger and Rafa.
